Hunter A. Hoover's Online Review Report Card

Beyond just not recommending Dr. Hoover, I would warn anyone who has plans to see him. He saw my two month old son in the hospital and scoped him using an adult size scope. Scoping is obviously an invasive procedure for a baby and I have, at this point seen other ENTs scope my son. He was so far from gentle or caring. Other ENTs used a scope 1/8th of the size of the one Dr. Hoover chose to use on a newborn and have never made him bleed like he did. All this aside, Dr. Hoover completely missed an extremely large cyst on the back of my son’s tongue because of his careless attitude. This careless attitude was shown in the way he spoke with us after the scope, he had decided what he would see before he even scoped him and because of that did not provide a thorough exam of my son’s airway. This carelessness led us to many more weeks in the hospital searching for answers because his airway had been determined clear of obstructions. On top of all this, I found it absurd that it is known to staff and patients at the hospital that Dr. Hoover takes a daily nap from 2-3pm and everyone has to work around him for scheduling. He may have a health condition that requires it but I doubt his staff would make jokes about it to patients if that were truly the case. I honestly have nightmares reliving my experience with Dr. Hoover and truly regret ever letting him lay a hand on my child. I would seriously warn other parents from turning to him when you need answers regarding your child’s airway. I am thankful that I continued to push forward for second opinions or else I don’t know where my baby would be because of Dr. Hoover.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Hoover since 2013 and cannot recommend him highly enough! He did comprehensive sinus surgery for me in 2014 and I’ve seen him for follow-ups ever since. He is the most knowledgeable and caring physician and I trust him implicitly with any ENT concerns.

I have been seeing Dr Hoover for sinus issues since 2014. Some of those issues have been outside the ordinary. My experience with him is that he takes time to make sure he’s gotten to the bottom of the problem and follows up to be sire the resolution is successful. He is personable and easy to talk to. I really cared for when I leave.
