Incredibly grateful to have been so well cared for. I was observed with granular detail. My care was both personalized and genuine. Joe D. Bernard, MD and Brooke Smith, PA-C are an excellent team. They possess a compassion that is difficult to come by. Dr Bernard communicates in a thorough and calm, light-hearted manner. Brooke never rushed my inquiries, addressing one question at a time, with a sweet smile in her eyes. They ensured that I understood what had happened with my brain as well as my treatment plan moving forward. Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates have an exceptional practice here in Charlotte. So much to be proud of. The Physicians, PA’s the NPs, all the nurses, & alternate resources provided are top tier in their demonstration of tremendous care. Everyone has stated that I was exactly where I needed to be. Including my brother-in-law, who is a doctor in Nashville. My husband and I have both been patients’ of Dr Joe Bernard. As an RN of 37 years, I have known many , many Doctors and Dr Bernard is among the very best. I am very particular about who I trust my family’s care with. I like that Dr Bernard is extremely down to earth and also extremely knowledgeable. He listens to the patient and family members. I had spinal surgery performed by him twice in 2014. He is now seeing my husband. I feel very safe with him caring for my husband.
