List of Laura Y. Mcgirt's Reviews
When I first met Dr. McGirt, she came to my hospital room to do a biopsy. I have had numerous outpatient visits and have spoken with her on the phone. She's an excellent dermatologist and isn't afraid to think outside the box! (I have a rare disease.) Above her abilities to be an excellent doctor, she is very caring, compassionate, and really becomes a friend. If you need a dermatologist, I would highly recommend Dr. McGirt!
I highly recommend Dr McGirt to anyone looking for an experienced dermatologist. She spent over an hour with me during my first visit - gathering all of my relevant medical history, listening to my symptoms and answering all of my questions. She explained my condition (very rare) in detail and all about next steps including further tests and treatment options. Her relaxed personality and professionalism put me at ease and I have full trust in her knowledge. Couldn't ask for a better doctor.
First time to dermatologist. Dr. McGirt made me feel so comfortable under uncomfortable circumstances! I definitely will be back to see her if needed.
Dr. Laura is the kindest Doctor. She is easy to talk to any you know she is listening. She makes you feel comfortable and not embarrassed by what ever condition brings you to a dermatologist. Most Importantly, she is SMART, she is the kind of Doctor that if she doesn't now what you have she is going to find out. I saw her in her intern and post intern days at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. I hope that she still wants to pursue her studies into the most complicated of all skin diseases Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma and Sezary Syndrome. I am so happy that I have found out where she is practicing now and how to get in touch with her. She always call my husband and I The Langer Family. So Sweet, Hi Langer Family! Hi Dr. Laura I will be in touch!
despite the dreadful office staff... She is an excellent dermatologist and is very caring. The multitude of students she brings in the room are somewhat offputting.. but hey, they gotta learn somewhere I guess.
Excellent communication, friendly and attentive to what I had to say. Overall department experience was much more positive than my experience at Mercy. Support staff were kind, professional, and quick to help.
Dr. McGirt was helpful, friendly, understanding and knowledgeable when I saw her at Johns Hopkins. My primary care physician referred me to her as an expert in my particular skin disease and she did not disappoint. After an initial exam, she took the time to explain the pros and cons of different established treatment options and even suggested some new therapies that were more suited to my situation. She even volunteered to come in on her day off to meet with me and another specialist to coordinate my medical care! Dr. McGirt's dedication to her patients is refreshing during a time when doctors are pressured to see as many patients as possible as quickly as possible. Physicians like Dr. McGirt are the reason that Johns Hopkins Hospital has a reputation as one of the best in the world. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a dermatologist in the Baltimore/Washington area.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
