I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of my surgery at the hands of Dr. Marc Smith. Absolutely pain free (as he said I would be). I had a spinal fusion of L/4/L5 and was able to come home the same day of surgery and have taken nothing more than extra strength acetaminophen for my surgical discomfort. I would recommend him without reservation - the best of the best in my opinion.

Dr Smith is a very caring, skilled neurosurgeon. He is thorough in reviewing the needs of his patients and advising using non-surgical treatment when possible. When the only option is surgery, he explains the pros and cons. I would recommend him to anyone needing spine or any neurological specialist!

I highly recommend Dr. Smith and his team. After a few months of sciatic pain, I learned through a MRI that I would likely need surgery. I did my research and saw two other surgeons before choosing Dr. Smith, who was highly recommended by my physical therapist. The other surgeons suggested a spinal fusion. Dr. Smith gave me another path through a less invasive method that he has perfected and performed hundreds of times, giving me confidence that he could improve my situation. - and he successfully ended my sciatic pain! He and his entire team are professional and caring. I highly recommend Dr. Smith and Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates.

Dr Smith and his whole team are fantastic. I had a very serious medical condition that Dr Smith was able to help resolve. He is very easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable. The part that I appreciated the most is that he had empathy for me and my situation and really wanted to help me. I am now 6 months out from my surgery and my life has been completely improved. I can’t thank him enough.

Dr Smith is an unassuming and straightforward physician who listened thoughtfully to my concerns and moved remarkably fast to provide a remedy. I had compressed nerves at C5/C6 that were causing pain and numbness down my left arm. Dr Smith performed surgery to open the pathway for the nerve and the symptoms began to alleviate almost immediately. I highly recommend Dr Smith and the team.
