List of Haywood Regional Medical Center's Reviews
My sweet little papaw spent his last time here this past week. We never wanted to send him here because we wanted him at home. But we were able to meet some incredible people. Not only did they do everything to make sure that my papaw wasnt hurting and comfortable but they always checked on us as the family. Mark and Jan were amazing and treated our family and papaw with such compassion and care it was like we were their own family. Everyone was amazing and treated us this way just these two went above and beyond. I will forever be thankful for this team.
After a brief illness my Motherinlaw was admitted to The Homestead where she spent the last days of her life. This was the second person I have known that was a patient there and both times I came to the same conclusion about the facility. I wanted to review our experience simply because there is no way such a hard time in our lives could have been made any easier but the team at The Homestead proved otherwise. Our nurses were each efficient knowledgeable and sincerely compassionate. They kept our loved one very clean and comfortable and that was clearly their goal and full intention from the moment she arrived. Mark was our angel. He laughed with us cried with us and even prayed with us. He was wonderful and treated us and our sweet little Maw like we were his own family. Theresa is made for this field its like she came into this world with a special gift of care and compassion for others. We couldnt have asked for a better place and I am thankful our community has such a wonderful facility.
If you care at all about your loved ones do not send them to this place You are lied to and misled upfront. This facility is a total SHAM they want to have your loved one there so they can be under their Hospice Care meaning your family member will get shipped off to a nursing home. But that way they still collect their Medicare payment.Educate yourself and ADVOCATE for your loved ones. Go to Care Partners Hospice in Asheville where they actually follow Medicare Guidelines but more importantly where they actually care for the patients and families. There is something very underhanded and Wrong going on at this facility. BEWARE
My dad was only at the homestead for 2 days but I have to say the nurses there were very caring. Teresa Dawn and Rosie were so sweet and I know in my heart they gave my dad the care he needed in the last days of his life. Teresa is a special lady with a heart of gold and shared her memorial rock garden with us. I will be bringing a painted rock in memory of my dad to put there. Thank you so much❤Leila Schultz
This is a very short stay hospice. Should have respite in its name. No one told us this at the hospital. I asked for a transfer to the VA. We dealt with primarily palliative care at the local hospital prior to transferring my husband. When they admitted him I asked how long could he stay? Was told 2 to 3 days to 2 to 3 weeks. Three days later he was transferred in pain and confusion to the VA. Now was this a case of dumping? Or what?

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
