Hard to get after school appointments. Took son for handwriting help. They hardly helped with handwriting or with hand strength. They just wanted to focus on PT, not what he needed most.
Duke Hospital has saved the lives of both my mother and my child, and countless others I have known. The nurses are the heart of any hospital, and Duke has great ones, compassionate and committed. The doctors are some of the best in the world. Are you going to have perfect experiences anywhere all the time? No. But at Duke, the good has outweighed the bad at least 95% of the time in my nearly 6 decades in Durham. That's an A in my book. I've read many of the other reviews. Most of the negatives are over one instance and ring of mere pettiness, rashness, and a self-centered viewpoint. Everyone needs to learn to take a step back and look at an issue from every perspective, and be honest with oneself about your own roll in the issue, before jumping in with all the negatives.
Dr. John C Barr from Neurosurgery refused to see me after I drove 90 miles to see him. I was stopped on my way to his office due to an amber alert in the county, police had a check point. I was his last patient of the day and he refused to wait 10 minutes for me to arrive. His staff proceeded to tell me they found something “pertinent” in my MRI, yet his nurse or any of his staff refused to speak with me. I am a disabled veteran and have seen over 50 doctors in the past 5 years. He is by far the most unprofessional “medical professional,” I have ever encountered. He has ZERO compassion. A doctor that is there for his high paying profession, not the well being of his patients. He may be a good surgeon but he lacks basic human decency and ethical skill. I would highly consider seeing another physician if you do not want to be treated like a number.
I can truly understand why this organization has such a low review rating. What kind of compassionate and caring healthcare system literally sends a patient to collections for a measly 35$ without first making contact to even state there is an outstanding bill in need of payment? I not only find this appalling and completely inappropriate, but this is an unacceptable dent on my well-deserved credit rating. There are other health systems out there, my future healthcare needs will be given elsewhere, not duke!
All of my care team from nurses to specialist during my spleenectomy, paracentesis, and TIPS procedure were amazing. The liver team saved my life. If it weren't for them and my hematologist, I wouldn't be here today. God put me right were I needed to be.
My sister in law went to the emergency room because her infant child was screaming on the top of her lungs from pain, and the nurses heard her screaming for over 2 hours the child is about to pass out from the pain and they still weren’t doing anything about it the nurses at the emergency area are the worst. They should have made an infant baby their first priority because it’s on them if their the reason if the child had died because they wouldn’t take them to the back. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER NON now I know where to NOT go if me or my son needs to go to the hospital in North Carolina
I Recommend DUH . Whenever I got there I was in a critical condition because of the Hospital that I went before. Me and my husband chose DUH in Durham because we knew they have an excellent health care . I thank God everyday for putting the best Doctors in my way .Michael N. Ferrandino, MD and Christopher Hoimes, DO and the health team at Dukes cancer center . They saved my Life❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💙
Duke Transplant saved my husbands life. They took on his complicated case when other transplant centers wouldn’t. They’re the best!
great medical team who assisted dr.carl basmania with my surgery.
Duke Health is great, but this PT location in Apex is the worst!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
