Dr. Hoffman is by far the worst doctor I have ever come across in all my years. He is impatient, rude, sloppy, and not thorough. He never allowed the patient to check their vision after correction. I saw Dr. Hoffman for my annual eye exam about 2 yrs ago. He was not personable & used scare tactics, saying that with my vision I shouldn’t be driving. I had not needed anything but reading glasses up until then & had no known eye disease. This was told me before the exam. He was already telling me I’d need glasses. When I told him I was not purchasing my glasses from the office, his demeanor turned brisk & rude. I’m a healthcare professional who has worked in an ophthalmologist practice.

Not a great bedside manner. Instead of recommending that I come in for an exam yearly, the second time I saw him he rather rudely chastised me for waiting longer than a year (and it was still less than 2). He changed the base fit on my contact RX on that visit. He didn't tell me. My eyes got red, irritated and painful, but I didn't know why. I was going to see Dr. Hoffman again, but couldn't get an appt. with him before an event I had that I didn't want to wear glasses to. I saw another doctor, and she knew immediately what the problem was. She also told me that she had previously worked with Dr. Hoffman and had seen the same issue with some of his other patients. I don't know if there's some medical controversy over how contacts are supposed to fit, but FYI, too tight of a fit can be extremely irritating. I have an ugly red vessel in my eye that appears to be permanent as a result of this.
