The doctors office has horrible communication skills. They are absolutely pathetic when it comes to Doctor patient communication

I scheduled an appointment at this facility because this was my primary doctor's office prior to his retirement, I need a prescription filled and I don't remember the name of it. (An hour away from current residence) When I made the appointment, I specifically told the appointment setter that I needed a prescription refilled that the retired physician that would write for me. The appointment was scheduled. When I get to the appointment, the Nurse Practitioner would not look up my records from the retired doctor. He said he would prescribe something. He asked me to wait, he was going to get some samples. While I wait, I can hear the nurses chatting right outside of the door. 15 minutes later I pop my head out the door to ask what was taking so long..they had forgotten about me!!!! And to top it off there were no samples. I will not be going back. Summary: Drove an hour each way to not the get the prescription I needed and was left in a room until I came out to see what was taking so long.

My appointments are always on time, not like most offices where you spend almost an hour before you actually see your doctor. Staff is very friendly and helpful, best Primary Care I have ever had.

When your doctor says just come in and we’ll start the non-stress testing ASAP so that testing is done by the appointment and you talk to staff here and just see crickets. Perpetual issue with this office. Pregnant four years ago in 2015 and 2019 and zero development on this front. Frivolously wasting patients’ time on poorly designed processes. Rather, no process at all.

I was bitten by a tick a few days ago. I called today to make an appointment since the bite left a mark and rash unlike other tick bites. I was impressed with how the appointment maker understood the seriousness of a tick bite and that a nurse called to triage me while I was en route to the clinic. I saw Dr. Lam and a medical student at the clinic and both were wonderful. I am satisfied with the diagnosis and treatment plan. Thank you Dr. Lam and medical student (I forgot her name)!! I’m glad I’m a patient at UNC Family Medicine. �
