Edward A Lewis's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Lewis doesn't address all pain problems. My pcp told me he is a one trick pony, he uses the same procedures no matter what your real pain issue is. I know this also as I have seen him on and off for a number of years.

I saw him for back pain. He was to give me a lumbar branch block in my spine. If it didn’t eliminate my pain by the next day, I would be scheduled for #2; if that didn’t work, then I would get set #3. If, after those 3 sets, I still was in pain, he would surgically insert a Vertiflex device in my back. Each necessary appointment was to be about a week apart. After #1, Dr. Lewis was to order a prescription for me; his office would call me the next day to see how I was feeling. During that call I told them I was no better and asked where my prescription was. Dr. Lewis admitted he neither ordered my prescription nor recalled what he was going to prescribe; the MA told me wasn’t unusual for Dr. Lewis. This and the failure to schedule injection #2 alarmed me. My pharmacy told me opioid patches had been ordered after I told the doctor I didn’t want opioids: also, opioids are contraindicated with my other prescriptions. I have filed a complaint against Dr. Lewis with the NC Medical Board.

I was a widely trained registered nurse who was BRUTALLY surgically injured have breast reconstruction surgery in 2013. I moved to a new area thus to see a new doctor. Dr. Lewis has a nice staff around himself. However he is a narcissist with issues of power and control. He would not speak to me about my own care plan. He was disrespectful He is paranoid. He turns things you say into something you did not say. He was like an atomic bomb going off causing me to lose my primary care. He needs mental help. I was brutally surgically injured in 2013 and never before had anyone let me run out of pain control. But he did not care he left me with no pain control for an affliction over which I have absolutely no control. He showed ZERO compassion in 2 visits. He is self centered. I personally do not feel he is a safe doctor for people who must have pain control without interruption. He is not dependable. He is not clear in his thinking. He was sneaky about not communicating with me what his plan would be. The only upside was his staff seemed nice. So if you can survive him and see a nurse practitioner it might work. But be aware he is a bully and will verbally spar with so be cautious when communicating with him. Good luck.

Dr. Lewis is an excellent Doctor. He takes time to speak and reassure you of the procedure that he recommends. He's efficient and extremely competent when performing said procedures. Dr. Lewis has helped my pain and I will continue to be his patient! I highly recommend him! He has a great staff as well! Thank you

Showed up 2 hours after my appointment time, said I was a junkie. Made me feel bad about myself. Avoid the guy

Went hack for my 2nd hip ablation in 5.5 months. Pain lever was a 7 when I went in and left inc ZERO pain. I know at some point I will need surgery, but this affords me the quality of life until then. Dr. Lewis is the best for me at what he does. All done without steroids!!! All I can say is if you are in pain and need relief temporarily without surgery, then you need to see Dr. Lewis at the Pardee Hospital Pain Department. If you are living with pain, then you need to visit Dr. Lewis and find out what it;s like to be pain free. For me it's a no brainer!!!

I can't say enough about how Dr. Lewis has helped me with pain management. He's kind and caring and easy to talk to. I highly recommend him, he's a Godsend!

Dr Lewis was fabulous on my 1st visit to the pain clinic. He narrowed down where my pain nay be coming from and ordered appropriate tests to be done. He was very professional and courteous.

I'm not sure why the negative reviews but my husband and I just saw Dr Lewis. He took extra time to answer all of my questions and make sure I was aware of all the possibilities. I am pregnant and he in no way tried to encourage me to do anything that might have a possible risk. He even encouraged me to go to my chiropractor first to see if that would help before prescribing something or doing an injection. I think the negative reviews may be those people who are addicted and wanting more pills. I strongly recommend Dr. Lewis!

The office staff are friendly and easy to talk to. The nurses are genuine concerned and respectful. Doctor very knowledgeable and explained in detail my plan of care and what to expect as well as risk for procedure. Plan on having a Nerve stimulator placed in a month or so for chronic nerve pain.
