List of Caromont Urgent Care - Gaston Day's Reviews
Giving one star b/c you can't leave none. Appointment was for 10:55. Arrived on time and checked in. Was told to wait in car. Received call at 11:30. Spent another 35 minutes in waiting room, was told we lost our room b/c we were the car. What?? Is this a joke? Never again.
Worst Urgent Care I've ever visited. When I was finally seen (45 minutes past my appointment time), Kaylie (a PA) *briefly* listened to me, then proceeded to tell me exactly my problem (with no examination or x-ray or other diagnostic procedure). I was given 800mg Ibuprofen and muscle relaxers for hip pain. I specifically asked if this would improve by the weekend since we had an upcoming trip to NYC and she said I would be fine by then (very confident). Well, in NYC the pain got agonizingly worse; the trip was ruined for me since I could barely walk anywhere. I scheduled another appointment when I returned and when I arrived (in obvious pain), I WAS TURNED AWAY BY THE SAME PROVIDER! She would not even speak to me directly and instead relayed messages through the receptionist. She said I should follow up with my PCP. I told her this was another URGENT visit and that I couldn't see my provider for another 5 days and she still REFUSED to see me. Instead, she suggested (via receptionist) that I go to the ER. AVOID CaroMont unless you want an interview (not an exam) to have medication tossed at you and then dismissed (for a fee, of course). I wish I would have read the other Google reviews before I went there.

Just had my appointment canceled. I was told they were not treating sick people in the office right now. So what is their purpose if not to treat the sick. I am having what feels like an allergic reaction to something. I insanely listed chest pains as part of the trouble. Chest pains for me is nothing new. If they had bothered to look at my chart they would see that I have chest pains every now and then. I was told to go to the hospital. Yeah right. The wait time at the hospital is probably unreal. I'm just too sick to wait hour after hour waiting to see a doctor. I guess I'm just on my own now. Doctors that don't treat sick people. I've heard it all now.
Over an hour wait to be seen for a simple sprain - not even busy
simply avoid this place. Unprofessional and the providers are terrified to provide care. We were turned away because of “possible covid symptom”, when we showed the front desk representative a negative covid test. Providers should know that other sicknesses have “covid” symptoms. The incompetence of this facility is staggering, a provider who does provide sick patients care. Avoid!
If I could give this place zero stars I would. While recovering from a extreme UTI, my primary care physician told me that I needed to be seen in person. She instructed me to go the nearest Urgent Care which is this facility. I made an appointment online for 7:15 just to guarantee that I’d be seen since they were closing at 7:30. In route to the facility I received a call from the receptionist trying to discourage me from coming. I then relayed to her what my doctor told me and she reluctantly told me to proceed. Once I arrived at 7:10 and attempted to check in, the same receptionist then told me in a very rude manner that the doctor on staff didn’t have the credentials to see me because I am a Medicaid recipient. Turned away the couple that arrived after me as well.
Avoid at all cost, totally inept, had to immediately go to primary care physician to get proper treatment, after the weekend! Amazed at the lack of follow up and communication from the medical staff. These folks are in the wrong profession as they lack empathy and compassion for patients! No need to respond with your canned response, you had your chance and missed the mark!
Second time I have been there, worst service I have ever received both times, this time I just walked out...very unprofessional. Waited 20 minutes and was only one in line still couldn't get Waited on, person at front desk had no clue what she was doing. Will never use or recommend this office again
My daughter went to CaroMont Urgent Care - Gaston Day on November 4, 2021 to get care for a painful boil that developed under her skin. She saw a Physician's Assistant named Andy Craig. For reasons I beyond me, he discouraged her from getting anesthesia by telling her that by the time he gives her 4 shots for the pain, he could have the incision made. My daughter wanted anesthesia for the pain, but he convinced her not to have it. It turns out that he made an incision too far below the boil, that he had to make a second incision. He made the second one with no anesthesia also. He then had to stitch the incorrect incision. This, again, with no anesthesia. My daughter went alone, to Urgent Care, and therefore, had no one to give her the encouragement to speak for herself against the PA's recommended procedure. She told me that she felt like nothing more than an experiment on a gurney in that room. After hearing about this, I called the facility and spoke with Craig. I told him that I was completely disappointed in his service and there is no way I can believe that he would have treated his own daughter, with no anesthesia, the way he treated my daughter. He insisted that his training indicated that this was a case when no anesthesia would be needed. I disagree with his thought completely and told him that this sounds just like a scenario where the prevailing thoughts are that a woman of color is tough, can handle more pain and does not need as much care. That is absolutely false! Women of color need that same kind of care as anyone else.I don't think I changed Craig's mind. For that reason, my preference is that he will not be the person to provide care to my family.I give Caromont a low rate because if the care my daughter received from Andy Craig.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
