List of MIchael Prater's Reviews
In the beginning I thought all was well. I had my total knee replacement and came home about 4-5 hours later . The pain was under control to a degree as expected for a couple days because everything was numb ( which made it easier on me). I came home with some medication which was supposed to last a couple days and it did. I was told to call when I needed a refill because they wanted to be sure that what I was prescribed was working. I did everything I was supposed to , I iced, I elevated, I followed all of the orders given to me by the office, hospital, and the visiting nurse, but the first problem started when he wouldn’t refill any of my prescriptions as they said that they would. I was surprised and I questioned why I was only being sent home with enough medication for only two days after a major surgery and told to call prior to it running out, which didn’t make a lot of since to me. So I went through MyChart, we also had to call, it took almost a week for them to respond and he allowed me to go almost a week on three different occasions in complete and unbearable pain. Without anything. My visiting nurses tried to help as much as they could. All I could do was cry. I had to care for my grandchildren. I think that had to be one of the most difficult times I could remember. At two and a half months he stopped all medication except for one which he knew I wasn’t supposed to take anyway because it contained NSAID (which helps with the swelling) I heard a lot of positive things about the facility which is why I went there. So when three months Come that’s when he sees me for the last time. He informed me that I had to see my personal physician for my aftercare for a surgery that he performed and if I had pain then I needed to go to a pain clinic. A pain clinic is for chronic pain not for when you’ve just had a total knee replacement. My studies cover some of the aftercare portion of this procedure so I rely on what I’ve learned to heal properly on my part but I’m not a physician and I have never heard of a surgeon not caring for his patients after a major surgery. So now I have to find another orthopedic doctor to make sure that I’m healing properly which is not easy because they don’t like to be responsible for for someone else surgery. I am in my fifth month now since my surgery. So as you can see. I can only imagine why I didn’t receive the same care as the others that left reviews. I saw him once before surgery, during surgery, and exactly three months after the surgery. So I don’t understand how people are still seeing him nine months and a year down the road after the same surgery. But as I said I heard positive reviews about this facility prior to my surgery.
The whole staff was wonderful. They were all smiling and helpful. Dr Prater was very nice and professional. He explained my diagnosis and all treatments and possible outcomes. I was very happy with the care I was provided.

AWESOME! EXTREMELY good bedside manners.
The doctor was very good at sharing why my knee was hurting and even showed me on an X-ray. He also talked to me about my sugar and explained I had to have my sugar under control before he could operate. I appreciate him being honest.
I am new to this area and they got me right in. Dr. Prater was nice and really listened to me!
Very good experience; I would highly recommend.
knowledgeable and caring physician and staff
This was my first visit with Dr. Prater. Everyone in the office, up front, in the back and in Xray were so friendly and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Dr. Prater made me feel good and at ease as well. He did a very good job at explaining my situation and the different options that we had to address my situation. I felt so much better and more at ease when I left. I am very glad he is my doctor.
Dr. Prater was amazing to work with and very flexible when I had pop up questions about my procedure. The entire staff was very welcoming and also a pleasure to work with. I was very nervous being that this was my very first surgical procedure and Dr. Prater was very detail oriented with the step by step process. It has now been 1 week after my surgery and I've experienced no pain at all and I can't help but thank my doctor / his team of colleagues. YOU GUYS WILL ALWAYS HAVE MY #1 VOTE AND THANK YOU FOR SUCH A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE! I will never forget what you all have done for me and have changed my life for the better (many thanks).

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
