Visited he several times for endoscopy and colonoscopy plus diagnostic work. Very caring about his patients. Makes you feel like you are part of his family.
Dr. Gessner is a physician who, in addition to ordering needed medical tests, he really listens to his patients. I needed to have a particular scan that wasn’t available in Greensboro for a couple of weeks, and he and his staff spent lots of time locating this particular scanner in a close town so that I would not have to wait. He spends time with his patients and shows genuine concern and care. I highly recommend him. His medical staff are also very caring!
Seems very nice first meeting but as you get to know him you learn he is very controlling, insensitive, and arrogant.

I saw Dr. Gessner a few times over the course of several years. At first, I thought he was wonderful, caring, took time, etc. I don't know if he just developed a God-complex over time or what but a couple of years ago I started experiencing weird, multi-system symptoms, primarily digestive. Naturally, I went back to him.He ran a few tests and was repeatedly dismissive about my concerns, patronizingly saying it was probably just anxiety, as I "have a history of that" (I don't). When I requested further testing, he actually had the kahunas to say, "it's not like you're dying or anything." What an insensitive, arrogant thing to say!A few short months later, I was in Duke Hospital for a month indeed fighting for my life, and no, it wasn't from anxiety. You couldn't pay me enough to go back to Dr. Gessner!

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
