List of Cone Health Cancer Center At Wesley Long's Reviews
This review is for the Lobby Reception Desk and Registration areas. My first visit to this location. The lobby reception was lukewarm at best not friendly welcoming or caring. But Mackenzi sp in registration window 3 was the coldest most unfriendly unwelcoming uncaring person Ive ever seen in a healthcare setting. I was not welcomed or greeted not asked how I was doing or how my day was not a single social skill demonstrated. She never made eye contact with me and everything that she did and said was for her to get what she needed and nothing more. At every pause she stared silently into her computer. All the way from registration to the elevator into the elevator and up to the 2nd ? floor she never looked at me or said a word did not say goodbye have a nice day nothing. This is a healthcare center. From the moment I walk in until the moment I leave I am a patient not a set of tasks to be accomplished. Not only was this extraordinarily poor customer service rude and disrespectful this wasnt even the common decency you could expect to find on the street with a stranger. How this girl has a job is beyond me. If I ever have to come back I really hope I dont have to see her and I will absolutely refuse to check in with her. The ladies at the lobby desk might take their role as the first contact a little more seriously as well.

Dr. Shauna Phelps an extremely bad oncologist working at WL but actually from Durham. Saw her December of 2019. Was told WL had only 2 surgical rooms for this doctor and her working partner. Kept pushing Durham.Told her I was not interested in doing my surgery or follow up treatment in Durham. She went ahead and booked a date anyway that was like 2 days away Zero personality terrible with patients and I believe incompetent. A very stressful experience. I ended up having everything done at Wake Forest Baptist with an excellent surgeon.

Cold cold cold . All the navigator wanted to talk about was a brochure sne had written. They tell you youre dying and thats it . COLD
I was treated for breast cancer here and everyone I had contact with was caring understanding and patient. The Oncologist Radiation Oncologist nurses and Radiation Therapy girls were all amazing I am so happy that I chose to get treatment here.
If you use the Patientco payment site be very watchful of your balances. Patientco credits by ‘Date of Service’ instead of by date of oldest bills first which can land your old bills in collections if your not careful. Plus bills sent to their website are all combined into one so you do not have individual bill numbers to pay the oldest first. And Patientco will increase your amount owed but showing no new bill before cone health has even billed you for those charges. Cone Health is aware of all of this and doesn’t care. They are willing to let you go to collections instead of crediting your accounts properly.
I drive from Morganton NC to get my treatments here at Wesley Long. When I first got sick I was working in Greensboro and was referred to the Cancer Center by a wonderful pulmonologist Dr Ramaswamy in Greensboro and was assigned to Dr Gudena. My experience has been 5+ in all areas. His staff and everyone connected with the Cancer Center are absolutely wonderful. I thank God for putting me in the position to be treated here.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
