I have been trying to make an appointment and no one ever answers the phone I have been on hold for 2hours.

Ladies and Gentlemen...An ERs job is to TREAT an issue not cure it. To cure your specific issue you must follow up with specialists that went to school and studied that specific issue. Yes emergency rooms are full of lots of ppl who claim their pain is 1010 yet you still see ppl on their cell phones talking perfectly calm and even asking for food. Your pain is OBVIOUSLY not that bad. You should not come to the EMERGENCY if you can talk to your Family Dr about your situation. Please dont abuse the Emergency Room for issues like toe pain or STDpregnancy tests and get mad you have to sit in the waiting room for hours because there are ppl far MORE sick than you. Remember an ERs job is to TREAT not CURE Your follow up is YOUR responsibility. Not an ER physician. Thank you.Stay blessed and safe.

Before I even begin this review I want to say as loud and as clearly as I can If there is any way you can avoid the Emergency Room at Cone Health during the pandemic do it at all costs  What a horrible nightmare Let me back up...last week something was going on with me internally that my doctors thought the best thing was to get over to the emergency room so they could take a close look at me ASAP. ASAP? The Emergency Room? During a pandemic? OMG  With incredible trepidation I packed up my mask my gloves a bag of snacks my phone my charger my hat my coat my wallet and my last nerve and headed over to Cone Health which is literally just down the street from me. I checked in at 1115AM and there did not seem to be too many people waiting which was very encouraging. I was immediately freaked out by the COVID section off to the right. As always the staff were completely professional and courteous checked me in quickly took my vitals asked me a few COVID questions got me back quickly for my blood to be drawn and that was the end of thatIt was 100 p.m. It was 300 p.m. It was 600 p.m. It was 900 p.m. It was 1100 p.m. It was midnight I thought I was absolutely going to kill myself. Not only was I concerned about my own situation but I was surrounded by COVID stricken people new patients refusing to wear masks as they entered the emergency room and everything in between. Finally at 200 a.m. in the morning when my doctor friend in California Michael told me that at this point they will probably tell me that as long as my vitals look okay which the blood work indicated in an email I received while waiting that they were they would send me home to go see a specialist. I walked out after waiting 15 hours My daughter was in shock. I usually cannot stand in line at the grocery store for more than 5 minutes. I crawled into bed at 300 a.m. having to teach my first day at Elon University later that day. I repeat do not under any circumstances go to the emergency room during the pandemic unless you have to I hate to give Cone a low rating because Ive needed their help many times for myself and my family and have always gotten wonderful care.  They are absolutely overwhelmed because of the pandemic and so I am traveling the highest road possible in my rating to a health provider that has always come through in the past. All the staff were sweet understanding and compassionate but there was nothing they could do about moving it any faster. Our health system is broken during the pandemicI could not help but wonder if there could be some kind of intermediate staff that looks at your vitals and results of the blood work that are taken early on and if they seem stable that they might meet with you and send you home with a recommendation of seeing your doctor or specialist ASAP rather than having you sit there 15 hours and waiting. It seemed unusually cruel unsafe and unnecessary. Tomorrow Im going to be tested again for COVID after being in such an enclosed space for such a long period of time. Will this ever end? Thank God I have a vaccine appointment February 11th... If there are enough supplies. See what I mean? Stay safe Stay diligent And stay away from the Emergency Room unless absolutely necessary

So tiered of Google maps taking me the extra long way to get some where.

Trying to schedule an appointment for 2 days now cannot get anyone to answer the phone. Have held numerous time for over 28 minutes
