Dr. Nandigam is a caring and kind person, I have been a little scared about my UC being active again, She takes her time with me explaining everything she wants to do to get me back into remission. She helps to minimize my stress. I am very lucky to have her as my Physician.
Though I have only seen Dr. Nandigam a couple of times, I have been very happy with her. She seems genuinely interested in my health and she doesn't rush in and out the way many other doctors do. I am glad that she is my new gastroenterologist.
The appointment went well. She agreed to complete paperwork for FMLA to cover my absences in office. There is a time limit to have that submitted. 17 days later after numerous calls and messages, she decides it's not ethical to cover me and couldn't care less if my job is lost or not. A doctor should be the patients' advocate but she is not. When I complained, I was told I could be discharged from the practice. I have years of being treated and having paperwork submitted by that practice for the same issue. Including paperwork from the doctor (since retired) that established the practice.
I was seen by Dr. Nandigam prior to being seen by my normal internist at Yale Internal Medicine Associates. As an educated medical consumer, I was very impressed by her thoroughness, insightful questions, very helpful answers and warm patient manner. Despite not having many years of experience, she is very competent.
