My name is Deborah. I am 57 years old. I have been severally traumatized from age 3 until a couple of weeks ago. I have had anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, flashbacks etc. I was talking to my psychiatrist one day and she brought up the name Pasadena Villa. I had never heard of this place before. She gave me some information and a number to call. I was really hesitant to call because she used the words Partial in patient and intensive out patient. I was put in a very scary place for seven days once. I knew that I needed serious help fast. I decided to call. I started right away. Best think I have ever done for myself. I thought that my first day I was going to be nervous. I was for a few minutes until everyone went around the room and introduced themselves. That same day I felt like I was already part of the group and fit right in. The counselors where very good at teaching skills. They where very focused on everyone's needs. I learned through art and music as well.i could not wait to get there every morning. I knew I was surrounded by the people in group as well as the whole staff. The skills you learn will stay with you for a lifetime as well as the friends that you make. I was sorry I had to graduate but they left me with the knowledge I needed to make it. I know if I ever have to go back I will be greeted with open arms. So I am challenging you if you are reading this please take that first step. It only gets easier when you do.
So, I've dealt with mental illness since I was 11. I'm 25 now, and I've undergone a variety of treatments, medications, and therapies. I came to Pasadena Villa in June 2021. I was at the end of my rope, like I've been before--knowing that if something didn't change, I'd be a real threat to myself. So, I dragged myself there the first day. And honestly, the first day was horrible. It was a new place, I didn't know anyone there, and I had a major panic attack. I wanted to quit, but I didn't, and I went online until I felt comfortable enough with coming in person (which I eventually did). I'm glad I came back. Every member of the staff there is a consummate professional and genuinely cares about the clients. They know their stuff and they're good at communicating it. They were flexible with me and allowed me to go at my own pace. After you get settled in, you'll find a community of other folks who are in the same boat as you--normal people who just struggle sometimes. That community and that support is invaluable. I also appreciated the holistic approach that PV takes toward treatment: there is music therapy 3x a week as well as lots of complimentary healthy snacks and lunch from local restaurants. There's quite a bit of focus on mindfulness strategies and meditation, and those strategies have particularly helped me.I grew during my time at Pasadena Villa. Am I cured since I graduated? No, definitely not. But am I in a better place than I was? Absolutely. It was certainly the right decision for me, and I'm thankful for my experience there.
For me, Pasadena Villa is one word: life-saving. I was treading water - going to therapy, taking my meds, using the skills I had developed over twenty years to cope with my anxiety and depression. Then, a change in my career and three deaths in my family sent me crashing into the worst spiral of my life. I was suicidal. I reached out and Pasadena was my rescue. The facilitators welcomed all of us in group, and met us where we were at the beginning, broken and in crisis. Through work together and as individuals, with Michelle, Cynthia and Amos guiding us, our group became stronger; we learned significant and useful coping skills, communication methods and mindfulness. Pasadena Villa embodies the true feeling of compassion, curriculum and genuine desire to help participants improve and maintain stronger mental health. I would recommend, and have recommended, this program to anyone. It is a blessing beyond measure.
I am a mental health professional in the Triad area and I have had the opportunity to get to know Pasadena Villa staff and the agency as a whole. I can say confidently that this agency is a wonderful place to receive mental health treatment because the staff are well trained and ethical people. I refer clients there for IOP and PHP services as I trust the agency with providing care to my clients.
I have been through the ringer when it comes to different types of treatments and trying to find something to help me be more stable. My therapist suggested Pasadena, but I had never heard of them before, so I asked around. All the people I asked said the same thing; Pasadena Villa was a life saver. The environment created by the staff was comforting and the team members were extraordinary, always going out of their way to meet your needs. On my first day there they made me feel safe, comfortable, and included. I feared being a part of a therapy group but as soon as I joined the group, I felt welcomed by the whole group. Throughout my 2 months at Pasadena- Triad, I have made some of the closest friends I have ever had. We continue to text and support each other even though our time at Pasadena has ended. If you are on the fence on whether to go to Pasadena-Triad, do yourself a favor and go. I learned valuable skills that will continue to be there for me throughout my life, so Pasadena- Triad will always be with me.
I hate to sound dramatic, but it was a truly life-altering experience for the best. I have been in and out of counseling for years and years, and even hospitalized once, and no place or person has ever had a positive impact on my life like Pasadena Villa in Greensboro. I arrived a train wreck who was barely functioning, and left with a multitude of skills to take on the stressors of life, a new attitude, and a new self-esteem. It is not just "talk therapy" its applicable life skills. I would highly recommend Pasadena Villa, and thank God that this place was suggested to me.
Pasadena Villa probably saved my life. At first, I was hesitant to sign up for a partial hospitalization program - I felt like I already knew “everything” about managing my depression and anxiety. I was definitely wrong! I really appreciated the structure Pasadena Villa built into their curriculum. The therapists blended more formal instruction topics with time to connect with our group members and individual time to reflect and practice our new skills. They really care about their patients gaining skills to improve their mental health and maintain their new behaviors! Highly highly recommend!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
