Pardee Hospital's Online Review Report Card

The outpatient lab (within the hospital) is pathetic. They cannot find orders that my doctor has given me proof was sent. They do not answer the phone nor return messages. I'm not sure there are actually employees other than the nice lady who told me she couldn't find the orders. Ridiculous!

Warning for those of you that live in Henderson county, NC. Pardee has really changed since it became part of UNC Healthcare. If you owe anything to them now and can't get approved for their charity care, you have to make payment arrangements with Access One. With Access One, they give you two payment options: 1. A higher payment option that doesn't include interest 2. If you can't pay the higher option they give you a lower option with interest. There's no pay what you can anymore! I applied for and was denied charity care which I qualified once before (more than 2 years ago) under the same circumstances financially and with insurance.  For those of us who are working class falling under the 35,000 income level, this is not okay!

This is based on coming to the outpatient hospital for pre-op and surgery in March and coming for current surgery I will have soon.Everyone was so nice and friendly, very caring for your comfort before surgery and after.I had to come  before my last surgery in March for a covid test and the girl who does them was very gentle. I didn't mind it at all.This time I had her again I was very glad.In march I have to say I had great care.I don't understand the one stars because compared to any hospital I've ever been in this is one of the best.The stay over night went well, the nurses all helped and didn't make you wait long before they came to the room.Over all I have to say everyone dreads having surgery and then staying but this place has a  caring staff, I actually had no complaints.I will update again after my next surgery in just a few days. So far it's still a 5 star review!!

PATIENTS BEWARE!!! There may have been a time where this was a functional hospital that cared about patients, but that time is gone. It's very clearly that the board of directors has switched their motive interest to monetary instead of caregiving. I could tell you every detail about my nightmare but I would just highlight the important ones so that you can have more information and deciding where to go. I had three emergency room visits, CT scans with and without contrast, an ultrasound and an MRI! I had all the specialists associated with pardee and all the radiologists submit their findings and not one of them got it right!!! They were chasing what they decided to be a rectal abscess. Over and over again they agreed on it. One surgeon was so sure of it he wanted to cut me open that exact same day! If I had let him do it it would have been a lawsuit for the hospital and a bunch of pain and agony for me. After giving them every opportunity of discovery I then had my colonoscopy. It showed me to have a tumor very low in my colon near the sphincter. The biopsy showed it was cancerous. If there had been one person before my colonoscopy who had known what they was doing someone could have found this out, after the fact I learned there was many flags that none of these professionals picked up on not even the fact that I had lost 40 pounds in 3 months! They're all so hell-bent on making all the money on all the procedures that they could as fast as possible that no one was looking for the reason I came to them in the first place. I kind of wished I'd let that surgeon cut into me and discover the ghosts they were chasing was a tumor and not an abscess so I could sue the whole bunch of them. Instead I am finally on target with getting some real help and want to warn everyone that when you walk through the doors of party hospital or anything associated with them you had better have all your ducks in a row and be well educated yourself before you let them touch you and whatever you do no matter how serious or minor your case is, get a second opinion because it could save your life.

Care was excellent, but it took 7 hours to get out of the waiting room and be seen. My sister was literally moaning with belly pain (for 7 hours) but it appeared that they took patients to a room in the order they had arrived with no obvious triage.  Once we did get back to a room our nurse said that one of their doctors had called in sick that morning, so they only had only one ER doctor all day. Evidently no back-up plan.   Yikes. We arrived at 6:30pm and weren't seen until 1:15am.   Waiting room staff was courteous but gave no info as to why we had to wait.  ER staff was great. If you need to go to the ER call first to see what their wait time is.

So often we don't take time to rate our great experiences and only focus on the bad. I had to take the opportunity to say what a great experience I had at the ER today.  Dr. Lloyd was kind and knowledgeable. Her team worked together in unison to keep patients taken care of. Every nurse I met was friendly. If you have complaints about waiting to be seen in the ER please remember that rooms are limited and some people are choosing to use the ER to care for non urgent needs like ear aches and things they should be going to their primary care for.

This hospital was taken over by University of North Carolina. It's gone downhill since. This place can be compared to walmart superstore. The reason : most of the departments such as cardiac, pain clinic etc appear to run this hospital. It's like doctors rent space here and have the final say as to how this hospital operatesIt's a hospital without an administrator, if there is one, it's by title onlyThe people and CEO at UNC are just as bad , have no clue what's going onA big change needs to be made !My chief complaint is with the "pain clinic" joke ! The main doctor isDr Lewis , biggest thrill of his life was being on Oprah. He runs this horrific pain clinic. I didn't make this up, it's on one of his bio'sWas going to operate on me without even seeing me. Get over the ego !I guess it's good being the only game in town

ZERO stars would be appropriate. After returning for my follow-up appointment for my RFA. I was attacked in front about the mask in which I am medically exempt for many reasons, yelled at and finally made it pain center. Check in was friendly . Got to room and vitals done blood pressure was sky high from anxiety of mask police. After an a nurse Lee came in with nasty attitude and threw a mask on my lap demanding I put it on. I declined, she was extremely rude then proceeded to tell me Kim won't see me because I was late which I was not  was delayed by mask police and 45 minute drive. Then I asked her first name and she left room. I was very upset and shaken being treated this way so I decided to leave when I opened the door security was waiting to escort me out.  Humiliated, shaken and very traumatized I left, sat in my car and cried for an hour. I have never been treated so bad in my life. I come here for HELP with chronic pain and this is how they treat you. My RFA Appt wasn't like this and Dr Lewis was wonderful but after this I won't be back and will take further action. Shame on YOU PAIN CLINIC. DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT!

If there was a 0 rating, this emergency would get it.  Arrived at 4:00 and left at 7:30 with never seeing a doctor.  Just waited in a uncomfortable waiting area, had several people that were not trauma patients come in and leave seeing a doctor while the waiting room waited.  One person stated that she had been waiting 5 hours without any help.  Discussed the  wait and was told that it would be soon, never happened.  Just an terrible experience.  Hospital staff were handing out masks, while several staff members were walking around without masks.Do not waste your time or money, go elsewhere.
