List of Pardee Hospital's Reviews
The outpatient lab (within the hospital) is pathetic. They cannot find orders that my doctor has given me proof was sent. They do not answer the phone nor return messages. I'm not sure there are actually employees other than the nice lady who told me she couldn't find the orders. Ridiculous!
Care was excellent, but it took 7 hours to get out of the waiting room and be seen. My sister was literally moaning with belly pain (for 7 hours) but it appeared that they took patients to a room in the order they had arrived with no obvious triage. Once we did get back to a room our nurse said that one of their doctors had called in sick that morning, so they only had only one ER doctor all day. Evidently no back-up plan. Yikes. We arrived at 6:30pm and weren't seen until 1:15am. Waiting room staff was courteous but gave no info as to why we had to wait. ER staff was great. If you need to go to the ER call first to see what their wait time is.

So often we don't take time to rate our great experiences and only focus on the bad. I had to take the opportunity to say what a great experience I had at the ER today. Dr. Lloyd was kind and knowledgeable. Her team worked together in unison to keep patients taken care of. Every nurse I met was friendly. If you have complaints about waiting to be seen in the ER please remember that rooms are limited and some people are choosing to use the ER to care for non urgent needs like ear aches and things they should be going to their primary care for.
ZERO stars would be appropriate. After returning for my follow-up appointment for my RFA. I was attacked in front about the mask in which I am medically exempt for many reasons, yelled at and finally made it pain center. Check in was friendly . Got to room and vitals done blood pressure was sky high from anxiety of mask police. After an a nurse Lee came in with nasty attitude and threw a mask on my lap demanding I put it on. I declined, she was extremely rude then proceeded to tell me Kim won't see me because I was late which I was not was delayed by mask police and 45 minute drive. Then I asked her first name and she left room. I was very upset and shaken being treated this way so I decided to leave when I opened the door security was waiting to escort me out. Humiliated, shaken and very traumatized I left, sat in my car and cried for an hour. I have never been treated so bad in my life. I come here for HELP with chronic pain and this is how they treat you. My RFA Appt wasn't like this and Dr Lewis was wonderful but after this I won't be back and will take further action. Shame on YOU PAIN CLINIC. DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION LAWSUIT!
In my opinion if you care about your health, don't go to neurologist Dr. Joel Callahan. The office staff is extremely rude. If your lucky enough that the staff schedules and keeps your appointments then be prepared. Twice my appointments were cancelled without notifying me. When I was lucky enough to be seen (6 months after my original appointment) they didn't treat the cause, only prescribed pills and more pills for my symptoms. If you need a Neurologist I recommend Dr. Wesley Fowler III, of Asheville. Little more of a commute but definitely worth it.
I am a rehab patient at the Pardee rehab facility on Thompson Street. This is not a criticism of any of the therapists but rather a criticism of the (not) cleanliness of the shower room in the aquatic area. I have complained about it several times during the past couple of months. But nothing has been done. The area in the room behind the bench, the toilet, and the sink has not been cleaned and has an accumulation of dirt along the wall. The bench itself has an accumulation of dirt and hasn't been cleaned either. And the metal frame on the bench is in serious need of cleaning. This is unacceptable to me as a patient there. Especially now when cleanliness is so important. At a time when we are going through this virus pandemic, I would think that all areas of this facility, including this area would be consistently thoroughly cleaned. It certainly doesn't make me and others feel comfortable in using these rooms. This situation is certainly not a good representation of Pardee Hospital, and something should be done about it.
I visited the Pardee Hospital Emergency room with extreme stomach pain. I am a veteran but the VA Hospital in Asheville could not see me. The ambulance crew asked me to choose a hospital and eventually, Pardee became available. A stroke of luck for me! The ambulance crew was from Lake Lure. I can't say enough about how well I was treated by them. I didn't record their names but I sure a little detective work can find out who they were. Around 11:00 am Saturday 3/14/20 from Lake Lure to Pardee. Dr. Stephanie Lee Trowbridge moved the intestine into its place. The result was the pain gone. I thought she did an outstanding job. In fact, everyone there did a great job. Wonderful people, wonderful place. Thanks to all.Richard Glenn

I had an appt. at Pardee today at 1:00. I arrived via Justice St. to the main entrance. There was a line of cars & a transport van blocking the lane to the parking deck. After sitting there for 5+min, I got out of my car to see what the hold up was...no valets to be found. Finally, I asked the van to please move to one side, so I could get to the parking deck. When I got to the office at 1:12, I was told I was late & they would have to check with the dr. I explained what had happened and that I was on their property trying to get in at 1:00 at no fault of my own. Needless to say, the dr. would not see me. I certainly understand how this hospital has such bad reviews. In thinking back to previous visits, I recall issues with parking...as in NO parking spaces available!...and also lengthy waits to see the dr. Guess that only works one way! At this point, I will NOT be choosing Pardee Hospital in the future!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
