Dr. Royce Bailey has been compassionate and patient with my parents, DeWitt and Barbara Hurst, for over 20 years. He was super nice and let me call him whenever I had a concern. The staff went above and beyond quickly responding when we need information about blood transfusions, even after my parents moved and he was no longer their primary care physician. It's unfortunate that zero stars isn't an option, but I warn those who read this - beware. "Dr." Bailey is the reason my mom is in pain pretty much every day and has gone through so much in the past 3 and half years.Going back to the summer of 2016, my mom went to see Bailey for abdominal pain. Without X-ray, CT scan - any testing at all - he diagnosed her with IBS and gave her a prescription and sent her home. She went back several times in the following months in severe pain and at one point my dad pointedly asked "could this be cancer?" Bailey's response? "If she had cancer, she'd be dead by now." Really, that's what he said to my 80+ year old dad who's been married to my mom for 60 years. Move ahead to an Emergency room visit February 2017 and what did they find when she was finally scanned? A tumor. A cancerous tumor that originated in her fallopian tube and grown so large that it was crushing her colon. Emergency surgery the next day to remove that and a section of her bowel resulting in a colostomy bag. Stage 4 cancer - and contrary to Bailey's assessment, she was not dead.She has been through so much since that surgery and continues to be in discomfort most days, worse pain other days. Why? Because one "physician" didn't care enough to do his job, didn't take the time to explore other possibilities. My mom is fighting a battle she didn't need to fight had Bailey properly diagnosed her during her first visit. Every pain she endures rests solely on his shoulders.

My experience with Dr. Bailey was great. In my opinion, he’s pretty much the only competent doctor in all of Western NC. After years of unexplained symptoms and being passed from one so-called “doctor” to the next, he was the only doctor who understood my symptoms and took me seriously. He listened to me describe my health history (this almost never happens with most “healthcare professionals”) and accurately diagnosed me with a connective tissue disorder within the first 30 min of meeting me. Thank you, Dr. Bailey (and staff)!!

Dr. Bailey is the best doctor in town! His staff is super friendly, helpful, and professional. Dr. Bailey always takes time to thoroughly exam me and listens to my questions and medical issues that I am currently treated for. I highly recommend Dr. Bailey

He truly cares about my health and is flexible on treatment plans if one isn't working well. He went out of his way to give me an article about new research on my chronic illness so that I could be a part of selecting my new treatment plan. Amazing bedside manner! I highly recommend him.

Dr Bailey saved my life. After numerous doctors kept telling me that I had nothing wrong with me, they didn't have time to listen to me, or that I needed Psychiatry- he listened to my symptoms and did testing to finally determine that I have a serious medical condition and started treating me. He cares. He spends as much time as he has to with you to help you. His staff is awesome also. You can tell that they really care about the patients. I highly recommend Dr Bailey if you want a really caring and knowledgeable doctor.
