I've had absolutely the worst experience with Gastroenterology and Dr. Allport. The believe they are a monopoly in this area and treat you that way. They badger/harass you with phone calls and even send certified mail just to schedule an appointment. Absolutely the worst! 1 star only because I have to select something to submit

My last visit with Diane & Dr Allport I was told if I had any issues prior to my next appointment to call them and they would see me. I had issues and they refused to see me, stating that they had not treated me for "constipation" My colonoscopy that they did 6 months ago had a list of diagnoses that included constipation. If you do not have any gastro issues then this is the place for you. Otherwise go to the emergency room

I had chest pain after a heart procedure and needed to rule out GERD. The office would not make me a consultation appointment. They just wanted to do an endoscopy. I was on blood thinners and wanted to know if I needed to go off the blood thinners before such a procedure. GIA called every every few days to schedule the procedure and every time I asked if the Dr. said whether I needed to go off of the blood thinners first, they said they still had not checked. After a month of this cat and mouse game, I went to Blue ridge GI. I love them. My daughter and friend have also switched to Blue ridge after GIA made them wait months for appointments for serious symptoms. In my oppinion, GIA is just a colonoscopy and endoscopy mill. They show no true caring for patients health.

After being a patient of Dr. Allport for 12 years, I cannot find a new gastroenterologist fast enough! I will have to go out of town. After severe exacerbation of GERD, nausea and diarrhea for 6 mo., and 25# loss, I was diagnosed with C dif.Went through 2 months of antifungal/antibiotic tx and resulting 3 rounds of yeast infection therapy. Everything thru phone tag with med assist. He never notified me personally. I was labeled uncooperative 2x and reported 2 my PVP. I was neglected/abondoned

For a 1st colonoscopy this experience was made better by to caring, compassionate bedside manner that I was shown by Dr. Allport. I would highly recommend him based on my experience.

What a wonderful bedside manner Dr. Allport has ! This man listens to all concerns and questions and takes the amount of time needed to ensure you are satisified. I would highly recommend !

Dr. Allport's bedside manner is the best I have ever experienced. While in the office for my first colonoscopy and endoscopy, he treated me like his only patient and was very comforting all while remaining very professional.
