Timothy Sullivan's Online Review Report Card

Condescending, superior and rude attitude I never felt seen or heard when I saw him with my children.

Let me start off by saying first and foremost this man in no way shape or form should be a Dr. he was this visiting pediatrician when my son was born. Seemed like a very soft spoken Dr. I liked his bed side manners, and his approach to checking on my son. Fast forward to 4 months later and he has been my sons Dr. for about 4 1/2 months now. My son at 4 1/2 months of age devolved symptoms of a disease that at age 6 and a half years we are still managing. During my trips to Dr. Sullivan he would examine these symptoms and say you know i just don't know. I had to bring him back 3 more seperate times befor I could finally get him to refer him out, at this point his head nurse pulls me aside and tells me she cant tell me why but that i need to choose a different dr. For the sake of my child and there are other reasons she cant say. Well i did the obvious and. And switched. Fast forward almost 5 years later and i called the dr. Office for my son to be seen (there are multiple drs at this office)for a rash that developed behind his ears. To my disappointment Dr. Sullivan walked in. When i showed him the rash and explained what was going on his response to me was "Don't ask Don't tell" I said excuse me? He says if he isn't complaining don't ask and he wont tell you. I stood there feeling like a twilight movie. Is this dr for real? I took my son to his dr. In UCSF to addressed this issues.Come to find out my child developed a bad staff infection due to his medical condition. This Dr. should not be in practice!!!!! It has always stuck with me what his nurse told me that i should switch drs. Later in that year she did as well. Parents, grandparent, guardians ......steer clear from this man!!!!!! He is in no way shape or form educated. His silly and ridiculous answers are in yes way shape or form what is best for a child or a concerned parent.

I waited over 2 1/2 hours to be seen for allergy testing. Was continually told he was almost done and I was the next patient. Dr. Sullivan introduced himself and left so his nurse could do the scrach allergy tests. After another hour of tests I was told what my allergies were but that Dr. Sullivan had gone home for the night and I needed another appointment to come back and see him. $1,200 of test and he leaves for the day with a patient in his care. Unbelievable! Didn't go back.

Dr Sullivan is good for older kids. Not the warm and fuzzy kind, but matter of fact and accurate. Andrea is fabulous, but she only works on clinical trials. Heidi is moody, but good at what she does. The rest of the staff is constantly turning over and just plain awful. After 14 years, we left the practice, because of turnover of Doctors (we originally went ther because of Dr. Newell) and staff. The office manager is slowly but surely running this office into the ground.

I can not comment on this doctor at the moment, there are ongoing legal matters. My lawyer has advised me not to speak of the case, and I can not speak about this doctor without speaking of the case. Please do your research on ANY doctor you or your children go to BEFORE you take them there, it could be life or death.

Our experiences with Dr. Sullivan were very poor. found him to be lacking in knowledge, and his rudeness and unwillingness to listen to parents resulted in a request not to to be scheduled with him when we called for an appointment. This was apparently too difficult to guarantee so we left the practice. After a particularly unpleasant visit we left the practice.

Dr. Sullivan is knowledgable, caring and dedicated. He and Dr. Newell are the reason I stay with the practice. The office stafff (not with the exception of Heidi and Andrea) need some serious retraining and customer service skills. Excellent Dr's just be persistent and demanding with the office staff and you will get good care.

Dr. Sullivan is awesome. Went the extra mile to help us all out.
