Warren Chang's Online Review Report Card

I've been meaning to write a review of Dr. Warren Chang for some time now. He is my father's nephrologist (kidney doctor). My family and I truly cannot thank Dr. Chang enough for his life-saving work. In summary, a few years back my father's kidney function had declined significantly, which his primary care doctor had failed to inform him about despite blood tests etc. (this is a whole other story...). After several stints in the hospital and ICU, I searched frantically for a seasoned nephrologist and found Dr. Chang. He and his colleagues from Westbay Nephrology came to my father's aid and made repeated visits to the hospital to monitor my dad. The primary care doctor never visited my father once. Thanks in large part to Dr. Chang's expert care, my father's kidney function improved to the point where he did not need dialysis. Today my dad is stable and continues to see Dr. Chang regularly for his thorough care and expertise. We are so grateful for Dr. Chang.

Four stars for Dr. Chang as he's personable and listens to not only the patient but the patient's family members. He has helped my mother through a bit of difficult situation in which she was having severe edema earlier this year.However, while the staff are overall pleasant and excellent I need to mention this recent interaction hence minus 1*. Due to my mother being in physical rehab. which clashed with a months ago appointment set up for later in the month I called beginning of December to cancel (this was 2 weeks in advance). Someone at the front desk took my message and said it would be canceled.But today lo and behold the same woman called and left a voicemail to confirm my mother's appointment tomorrow! Of course, the office will call patients prior to their normal beginning work hour of 10 a.m. BUT one cannot reach them-only their answering service to whom I left a message about the cancellation. I also told the answering service that I would call the office once they open to confirm that this appointment was indeed canceled once and for all.By 10:30 a.m. I called again, the same lady (who was supposed to have canceled the appointment) picked up the call. After I told her why I called she gave me some attitude that she 'already got your note'. Listen it was not my fault that you messed up and didn't cancel my mother's appointment when I initially told you...two weeks ago. So it's unfair to be irritated at me as if I was bothering you. So unprofessional. And why was I ''bothering'' you? Because I wanted to make sure this time you got it right!!

It doesn't get any better. A Doctor who actually thinks....

Dr. Chang and staff are wonderful. Always very friendly and helpful. My mother was under his care prior to transplant and now that her kidney function has declined significantly, she is back under his care again. She has moved a distance but still wants to have me drive 1hr each way so that she can be his patient. I don't mind because he is worth it.

Dr. Chang is the best do for that I have ever met. He always takes his time with me his diagnose is ways right. He cares about you as a whole person not just a sick person. He remember all my family names always ask about them. He treats the whole person. He is considerate and has most medical all knowledge I have ever seen. You can always trust him and be honest with him. He cares about you. It was one of my safest day when I learned he was leaving. I do not think I will ever have so much confidence or trust in a doctor again. He is the best ever. It is a sad day for Abingon to lose such a great doctor and wonderful person. I wish him the best possible in Hickory NC. I hope they appreciate this wonderful doctor, trust him and treat him well we will sure take him back.

He is a very carrying doctor. I trust him.

He spends time with his patients. No rush. Explains everything. Very professional.

I LOVE Dr. Chang. He's young but I've been going to him & he makes me feel so comfortable. He explains everything & takes his time. The staff is also very friendly & helpful.

Dr. Chang is a Nephrologist (kidney specialist) in Daly City, CA. He is extremely professional, friendly and has a wonderful bedside manner. He takes the time to explain the medical issues to the patient as well as the caretaker. His office staff (Chris) is very helpful and friendly also. They answer your questions and listen to your concerns. There was a situation where my mother's primary physician would not call me back after 3 days of trying, but Dr. Chang returned my call right away and saw my mother that afternoon. I highly recommend Dr. Chang if you need a wonderful kidney specialist.
