Dr. Wheeler has been amazing to and for my mom. He actually sees her as a patient with pain. Thank you sir
Neve have I ever witnessed such unprofessional staff in a clinical setting.I was referred here by my pain management. Dr Wheeler was a huge waste of my time. If you’re going for a neuro appt you’re screwed. All they want to see patients for is pain management . The med techs were so rude! And it was a struggle to get even my vitals and checked in. Dr Wheeler took up 5 min of my 30 min consult I was scheduled for. I’ve had 3 back surgeries and was supposed to be seen for degeneration in my neck . He recommended a book for me to read and said that was all he could do. But on a bright side - the only bright side to this appt-the front office staff who took my co-pay were great.
He's horrible. If you're looking for a neurologist that cares about you, keep looking.
If I could give zero stars I would. Dr. Wheeler left me with less hope than I arrived with. I have been suffering for years with a history of seizures, facial numbness and tingling (trigeminal neuralgia) ,unbearable pain in my arms and shoulders, numbness in my legs, my feet stay a purple color, loss of control over bowels. I was referred to him for a multiple sclerosis diagnosis confirmation. He proceeded to tell me I would benefit most from psychiatric therapy, read a book, and get some exercise. After he rudely told me he is out of resources considering I am self pay. There is no further testing to do. Completely disappointed, left with nothing but a $125.00 less in my purse and a broken spirit. He either needs a different profession or it’s time to retire.
Dr. Wheeler helped me for several years before moving to High Point, NC. I had back pain and he gave me injections that really helped. He is a very caring physician and I highly recommend him to anyone who is suffering. Just wish he was still in Charlotte
He is very rude , held my files in hands and pretended he was reading them. Stuck head in door and said he not changing anything and to call my other doctor for refills.
Spent 10 years in severe suffering, first trying all conservative treatments, multiple surgeries, traction, nothing helped. Doctors ran me through same procedures almost 10 years. I learned about Dr. Wheeler from a friend (Wheeler saved his life). My first visit was almost three hours; nobody spent that kind if time with me. I received a pain block injection on my second appointment. Staff clearly pointed out everything that could go wrong. I got a local antiseptic, and 10 minutes later the pain block injection. In 10 minutes, I moved from 10 years of suffering to almost no pain. A miracle-I could not believe it! A triumph of science-based medicine. Thank you, Doctor Wheeler.
I spent many days waiting for Dr. Wheeler. BUT, I knew how much extra time he gave me, when I needed it. I did not begrudge waiting at all. I knew someone else was receiving what they needed. I had nerve damage and surgeries. Dr. Wheeler tried many things to help me control the pain. Some worked well, some not so much. It is a hit and miss thing. We worked on this and found Botox worked the best for me. Dr.Wheeler was always patient, kind, and compassionate. I hate he left Charlotte.
I saw this man about a month ago to express and be treated for a brain lesion. He spent a total of five minutes with me and perscribed me a random medicine and said to me that there was nothing he could do for me.This staff was extremly unproffesional and had no empathy whatsoever. My appointment was a nightmare!!! Stay away from this man....
Thank you for all the years you didn't give up on me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
