List of James Szabo's Reviews
By far the worst doctor experience I have ever had. Took my 85 year old grandmother for several concerns that she had. The first nurse was incredibly kind, patient and helpful. We spent 30mins detailing all of our concerns which she put in the file. Doctor Szabo walks in and was rude, condescending, and sarcastic to an 85 year old woman. He had no patience or empathy. Never once looked at the chart with all of our concerns and got frustrated when my grandmother didn't understand his questions. When we said the nurse wrote all of this down he replied, "well she isn't here now is she". The assistant with him seemed clearly frustrated and rolled her eyes and made faces. I honestly don't know if it was to him or us, but either way it made for an incredibly uncomfortable visit. He also opened the door to leave several times while my grandmother still had her shirt off. I made the choice not to schedule follow-ups and we will seek treatment somewhere else. I don't recommend this doctor to anyone, but certainly don't let your elderly family members go alone.
Wait! Please read this review in its entirety, and do not waste your money on a man named "Dr. James Szabo." I had been waiting over 4 months for an appointment with him. My skin concerns had been growing worse, and no amount of over-the-counter medications could keep them at bay. I was starting to grow insecure in my body and looked to him for help and an answer to my issues. The entire appointment with him was over in less than 5 minutes. Before Dr.Szabo even entered the room, the nurse that checked me in let me know he came off as "a little weird, but nice." I tried to ignore this remark, but looking back now I should've taken it in. Dr.Szabo came in and introduced himself, and from there it was a downwards spiral. He was dismissive, didn't care about any of my concerns, and in general, reluctant to do much of anything. I told him how my skin issues had been going on 4+ months with no sign of improving, to which he reccomended I go to Walmart and purchase lotions. The irony is if the lotions I'd been using from Walmart for the past 4+ months worked, I would have never had to make an appointment with him. He never caught onto this. This is hands down one of my worst experiences with Bethany Medical ever, and I feel bad for the nurses that have to work underneath him. If he treats patients that he doesn't know like this, I can ony imagine what they go through with him. 0/10 experience. If you need to see a dermatologist, Dr. James Szabo is not your guy.
This is my first review ever of Bethany Medical . I’ve been going to Bethany for years . One thing I know is, with this dermatologist: Never again . He’s the worst. Nonchalant, didn’t care about my issues. The nurses and front desk staff were very nice but coming to him is a waste of copay .
He is the worst Doctor I have ever visited in my life. I had an appointment with him for my 6 month old daughter. We were concerned about our daughter's skin problems. He didn't hear our concern. His appearance looked to me ignoring!!! We were waiting for this appointment for more than 1 month. I am really frustrated with this kind of Doctor. Highly recommend to not make any appointment with him!!
Dr.Szabo is not dedicated to his client. He prescribes wrong medication. I would never recommend him to anyone.
Very sarcastic and don't like to try any other treatments or options after you tell him the first option is not working!!
I’ve never been treated worst! I waited months for this appointment. One of my moles changed to a pink color while being pregnant so I wanted it checked. I drove a hour to get to the office. As a new patient they didn’t ask me to fill out any forms and when brought back to the room was asked only a few questions from the assistant. When the doctor came in he didn’t even introduce his self .. so I went on to tell him what was wrong and he measured the mole and told me it was normal. I told him my family has a history of skin cancer and asked him why the color changed and why it looks this way. His response was how do you want it to look. I really couldn’t believe it and all he said was to come back if anything changes. I’m definitely not reassured that I’m okay and would never recommend such a doctor that doesn’t like talking with people or have any manners.
This was my first visit ever to a dermatologist, I’ve been having issues with itchy scalp and hair loss for over a year and just wanted someone to help me figure out if my hair would grow back. I’m thankful they were able to take a new patient so quickly and the staff was nice but I definitely felt like Dr Szabo did not care. My appointment lasted less than 5 minutes, he barely spoke to, seemed disinterested and then said everything looked fine and I needed to buy Rogaine. I was so disappointed I left the appointment in tears and feeling hopeless. Not a good experience. Update: not long after this I went to another dermatology office and the PA told me within 2 minutes what my condition was and got me on a prescription treatment. It is a very common condition. I wish I could have disputed the charges from the other office because I didn’t receive any care.
HANDS DOWN THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!! My son had 3 biopsies and cultures over a three week period. However, when we went back in to get his results, we were told that there was an "incident at their pathology lab" and they were unaware when they would have my sons lab results🤦🏼 Here we are 2 MONTHS LATER and I still have NOT gotten my sons results and whatever this is on his face is spreading fast! (Also, after each biopsy, Dr. Szabo was very rude. He didn't speak when he entered the room and he LITERALLY walked out without saying one single word WHILE I WAS "TRYING" to talk to him!) RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND UNPROFESSIONAL BEYOND ALL BELIEF!!!!!
While I will admit Dr Szabo has very little as far as bedside manner and he is quite awkward as a person, but is by far the best dermatologist I've ever been to. He managed to remove a wart that had been on my elbow for over 20 years...in one single appointment. I'd had that wart frozen a good 50x before, the most it would do was get a little smaller. But Dr Szabo will literally use the dry ice until the wart is basically dead. It will be painful don't get me wrong, but he gets the job done better than any other Dermatologist that I've ever come across, by far!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
