List of Wake Forest Baptist Health's Reviews
Come here to be forgotten, glossed over, or treated on the bell curve. It distresses me to write a review like this but I am obligated. This setup epitomizes the failings of the trends in health care. My awful, ongoing, experience started with me starting with Dr. Kelly, I recently moved here and needed a new primary. He was actually pretty good, cared enough to learn about me and my patient needs. He retired after our only visit. Ok no problem, set me up with someone else in the office please.Enter the PA, Natalie Smith. This experience is truly Interesting when you consider Ms. Smith is treating my wife simultaneously and when we compare notes the bad care overlaps remarkably (she is unaware as our last names don’t match). Ms. Smith is not equipped to deal with chronic care, and absolutely ill informed on mental health care. Once I filled her in on where I left things with Dr. Kelly, she stopped taking my history and moved directly into removing medication from my regimen that I’ve been on since 2014. After discussion, she agreed to continue prescribing (at this point we’re not even debating the health issues). I directly and explicitly asked her to tell me if she is uncomfortable with my needs as a patient and if she is not going to be an advocate on my behalf that she should tell me so I can find a different primary. Well you can guess by this point, she didn’t. In fact, she dodged my request for refill yesterday (claims otherwise) and actually declined. A notification I received after hours, this is significant for many reasons 1) yesterday was the day before thanksgiving (so no primary care today)2) this is medication I have taken everyday for >7 years.3) this is pertinent to my health. Now I get it, yes I will find a primary care who will take the time to learn my history and help treat the issues I bring up. I’m not inflexible, this is a conversation I need to have with an experienced healthcare provider.Back to my wife. She has been on a hormone modulating medication for the majority of her life. Natalie similarly abruptly stopped this medication! Her lady doctor immediately restored it and couldn’t explain why Natalie would have done that.Happy ThanksgivingTLDR: you will be placed under supervision of an inexperienced provider who has to go check with an adult every time you have anything beyond a booboo. Go somewhere else for primary care.
First of all there should be an option to leave a 0 star! My daughter was there on Sunday. She had an appointment at 3:00, she arrived early and went in to let them know she was there. She was met by a very hateful receptionist telling her to read the sign and go and wait in her car. Immediately my daughter apologized for coming in the office. She was told to call at 3:00. She called at 3:00 and was told it would be 20-30 minutes and they would call her when they were ready. She was called in and was there for a strep test. She was tested for Covid the day before and had a negative results and had proof. The lady told her they had to do it again because it could be positive now. She proceeded to jam the swab so far up her nose my daughter jumped and pulled back. Her nose was bleeding and the test was covered in blood. The lady (not sure if nurse or not) said oh your eyes are watering so that must have been a good test. My daughter told her she had been tested multiple times for Covid and it was never that painful! The lady left the room only to come back and say I’m so sorry I dropped that test I’m going to have to repeat it!! Again jammed it so hard it caused another nosebleed! After that she performed a strep test. Strep was negative. Covid was negative. She was told by the doctor it’s viral sinusitis and tonsillitis. If you’re not better by the time you finish your medicine then maybe it was Covid!! I’m doing this review because something needs to be done at this practice! I have spoken with 2 other people that had similar experiences! I know it’s hard to fill positions but if you can’t get better staff you need to close the doors!
The people at the check in have no business in health care. They could not be more rude or inconsiderate. 3 of them decided that they would talk about me right in front of me, out loud because the woman supposedly helping me is a joke. unprofessional and a disgrace to the medical profession .
I’d give a 0 if possible. I walked in around 2:15pm, closes at 5pm. I listened to the lady at check in book an appointment time for someone over the phone while I waited for her. She asked what I needed and I told her my son may have broken his arm. Her immediate response “I have nothing for you”. I said excuse me? So she just repeated it and refused to help us. Literally turned us away. My 4 year old son broke his arm and we couldn’t get ANY help from this walk in urgent care almost 3 hours before they closed. Absolutely disgusting. I only went here because my husband is a Wake employee and they were in network. So I went and got help from another urgent care that was OON and they actually took care of my child. Again, completely disgusted by this place and will never step foot in here again.
Check in was friendly and efficient. My insurance was checked online for pre approval. I was there on Tuesday mid morning and almost no wait after check in to being seen. I saw two people, one the nurse who was thorough and friendly. I was seen for a fall that resulted in split chin and facial abrasions. After the nurse cleaned me up the PA-C was in promptly and explained what needed to be done. Again, friendly and efficient. I had confidence in him. He took pictures of wound before and after stiches which I appreciated. His name is Fan Dong. I would be very happy to have him help me in the future.
If I could give this Practice no star I would. The medical assistants is rude. Not professional at all. One particular Medical Asst got in exchanges with me on mychart. Message Doctor&Medical Asst and doctor they were confuse, Telling me to me to call a doctor I never been to for certain situation . For a Professional Medical Practice they lack basis knowledge. WakeForest need to shut them down because they are incompetent. I message my physician and a incompetent person message me back in texting shorthand . Who those that. We are not texting. This is a business. We are not on the streets. They are a money making business. I also had a bill I was making over 100 a month and I was down to 90 dollars and they send me to collection because they said I didn't make payment arrangements. I was paying more than enough. It was middle of a pandemic. No one cares. They about that dollar. They love to milk your insurance company too, especially if you got good one. I had to refuse exam and treatments because it appears to be turning into scams. Wake Forest wake up you are nothing like the show Grey Anatomy. Some of your staff is ruing you all. I do not even know how your be one of the best hospital in the USA. God know how you make into the business journal, new journal. Some of your employees are laughing stocks as well as your Other practices too.
Great service from start to finish. The young man at the front was training another employee and they were both courteous and friendly. Had compassion with my dad as he was checking in. As far as urgent care goes, this place was fantastic.
Wait is extremely long and staff is rude
If I could give zero stars I would. The person who answered the phone was extremely rude and not helpful at all.
Double charging. If you go for physical, no not ask any questions about your health... they will double charge- for physical and office visit.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
