Wake Forest Baptist Health's Online Review Report Card

I called Oct 31 10:30 am Sunday morning for my son, who is attending HPU . I’m states away! Whoever answered the phone was an absolute angel! She took all info over the phone and got him an appointment within an hour!!!! She made this Mom feel so comfortable!! I wish I knew her name to thank her personally. Please pass along to the staff and they can thank her for me.

I am not one to write reviews because I believe that every person has a different experience with every business. BUT, I can not let this one slide. People are people regardless of their race, religion, color, or creed. TIMELINE: Went to Urgent Care on Saturday, Oct 30, 2021 arrival time: 10:00a.m.,I was told I needed to have an appointment because of certain symptoms I had. Appointment time 12:00N.(Note: Everything is Covid 19 related now (although that was not the case and I have been fully vaccinated since July 2021, which I know doesn't mean you can't have covid). But my point is: STOP USING COVID FOR EXCUSES.Return: @12:00 Noon. Called to the back(husband with me)Dr. ( I will not mention his name);( my motive is not to slander anyone but to speak facts).  I am sure he was great at one point in his career (very nice, but past his time of retirement). He enters the room with his eyes peeping in the door first then he slowly slides his body in the room sideways. Looking like he was fearful for his life. He ask me what was I there for? (no communication between him and the nurse before he entered the room).I explained what I had been dealing with for a few days, he did and simple check. (granted he diagnose me a guess: prescribes antibiotics which I am sure I needed anyway). He preceded to tell me to take a few days to give my body time to take on the meds. Follow up with Family Physician if things prolong themselves--------------------------------------FAST FORWARD-----------------------------------------------Monday, Nov 1st: I am feeling better but, still need another day to pull myself together because I am still not at my best yet. Energy level low. Slight headache. Dizziness(vertigo) is still testing me. Remembered I did not get my doctors to excuse for work on Saturday: ---------------------------HERE IS THE PROBLEM--------------------------------------------I called: (time: 4:30ish or so). No one answered: I was automatically put on hold; stayed on hold until I was driving up in the parking lot (20mintues).Hang up: walked in. I told Karen I was there to pick up a note to take back to work because I forgot it on Saturday. She asked when was I returning I told her Wednesday. She instructs me to have a seat somewhere in the waiting area and she would call to the back and inform someone. TIME: 5:10.........clock is ticking......TIME: 5:45.........not understanding and not feeling well, I get up and walk back up to the desk and ask her what is taking so long, I didn't come to see a doctor I just needed my excuse to carry back to work. She says because the Dr. that waited on me wasn't on duty, another Dr. would have to evaluate my record. I said o.k., SO I waited--------------------clock ticking-------6:15... I walk back up and ask kindly could she please give me a call when that statement was brought to her, I did not feel like setting there any longer. Karen said SURE! She wrote down my number! --------------------------the close at 7:00 pm -------------------------clock ticking---------------------------------TIME: Tuesday Morning: Nov 2nd, 2021: Called to Urgent Care: Explained to Grace what happened yesterday. After putting me on hold for a short time; she comes back to the phone after having to search for the information and informs me that  THE Dr. on duty decides that I can go back to work today based on the diagnoses he reviewed on my file. (ZACH)----------------------------------------MY ISSUE------------------------------------------First off, everything that Dr. Retirement and I discussed concerning my condition was not documented on my file. (It was not just a severe ear infections sir). Secondly: You can not look at my chart based on someone else's notes and assume that you are getting all the facts. It seems apparent that you did not. I am 55  years old, I know my body. You do not get to assume that you can determine what I can and can not do based on partial information. A follow-up appointment with my family doctor had already been established because I know that Dr. Retirement missed something. His goal was to get me out of there as fast as possible. Based on some of the symptoms I have, there should have been some test ordered but there wasn't.  -----------------------------------POINT MADE---------------------------------Everyone is not running to the URGENT CARE because they don't have a Primary Care Dr., Everyone is not coming to the Urgent Care to get a Dr. excuse to stay out of work; You don't get to tell a person how they feel. I have been those people except for needing an excuse to stay off of work. My employer can vouch for me. I am a loyal and dedicated person who never wants to miss work because I love my job. I love being a servant to the public and I love to help people. I am probably the lowest paid employee in my office, But, that doesn't deter me from loving what I do. I received no apology other than from GRACE. She did nothing wrong.

I went for a strep throat/covid-19/flu check. They did two out of the three, but didn't prescribe me anything for my swollen, inflamed, pus filled tonsils. PA-Jacqueline told me it was tonsils stones (which they aren't) because I get them frequently and to gargle with warm water and salt. 3 days has passed and I'm losing my voice thanks to this incompetent PA. If you're going to work in the medical field, listen to your patients instead of trying to rush them out. My Covid test came back negative, nothing on strep yet. And no flu test. So I'm going to another urgent careI will never go back to this urgent care again, and will try convenience care at the Palladium.

I came on a Sunday morning and got through quickly. Doctor was nice. They have always been helpful.

Front desk staff is so great! Sarah was so polite and helpful. Nurses and doctors were helpful.

The staff was extremely friendly, they got me to the back to been seen quickly and the nurses were very friendly made me feel comfortable about being there even when I was not feeling my best, they got me my medicine that I needed and I already feel a lot better!!! Highly satisfied and highly recommended.

Urgent care staff is wonderful! The front staff is super helpful and polite and the nursing and provider staff are knowledgeable and so helpful! Definitely recommend!

Great urgent care staff! Front desk is very polite and welcoming. The wait wasn't too bad and the nurse staff and providers explained my treatment well and treated me with respect.
