Today my boyfriend was seen by Provider Julie Gupton, and I went with him to his appointment. Overall it was a very terrible experience. My first impression of her was that she is a very no nonsense type of person, which is fine generally. My boyfriend was there because he needed to have a lump looked at. It's in a sensitive area, so we were both worried about finding the right person to go to about it. I felt like she kept rushing him the entire time, and seemed to be annoyed when he took time to answer her questions. When it came time for her to actually look at the lump, she kept insisting that he needed to remove all of his undergarments. She said that she "needed to look at everything" even though a genital exam was not what we were here for. The lump was next to it, but that kind of exam was not necessary, in my opinion. My boyfriend then asked, "I have a way to cover everything but still show the area, so can I do that?" And she flatly said, "No." Without elaborating any further. I cannot believe a doctor would have the audacity to tell a patient what their right over their own body is. Regardless of if she was using the correct methods or not, she handled the situation so unprofessionally. She could obviously see that we were upset and uncomfortable, and instead of giving us any space to decide what we wanted to do, she kept pressuring us for an answer. She offered no sympathy or explanation for any of her actions. At this point, I wanted to leave so badly. But her, and the assistant both acted like they were not going to leave the room until we agreed to something. She also kept asking my boyfriend if he wanted me to leave the room, at least two or three times. Which I think is ridiculous to ask that many times. I wouldn't be there if he didn't want me to be, and it felt like she was trying to make me seem like the problem. She also kept insisting over and over that it really needed to be looked at, when earlier in the exam she mentioned that she thought it might be a lymph node. I felt like she was trying to scare us into agreeing to getting it looked at. She did try to feel where the lump was once, but kept asking so many times where it actually was. My boyfriend pointed to it, described it, and told her, but when she went to examine it, he told me that she started touching near his leg instead.  After more awkward silence and tension, she then said, "You can take a picture instead. What do you think of that?" And rather than giving us any time to answer, she just kept pushing that he needed it looked at. And I said, "We can do that with no one else in the room." Then she said, "Oh yes. I know you can do that, we're going to leave whenever you decide." To me, her tone was also quite unprofessional, and uncalled for. When they finally left the room, my boyfriend and I agreed we wanted to leave. When we came out, we said that we were leaving, and we would be finding him a primary care doctor. She then started pushing again that he needed it looked at, and when it was clear we weren't budging, she said, "I would like to at least get you guys a referral, since we didn't really do anything." Which she never gave us a referral.  I think that her behavior was completely unacceptable, and a breach of my boyfriend and I's privacy. A doctor should be calm, reassuring, explain what they are doing, and offer solutions when challenges arise. No patient should ever be forced to undress if it makes them uncomfortable, especially when it is unnecessary. In this case I certainly feel like it is. If anyone reads this far, I strongly suggest staying as far away from this Urgent Care if you can. I would also give it 0/5 stars if I could. The entire experience was absolutely awful and it ruined the rest of my day. I also will be reporting her to the Medical Board.

Would go lower but it’s my only option. Some people shouldn’t be in the medical field and deserve to have license. It’s supposed to be taking care of people not just a paycheck and harassing there customers. Wouldn’t recommend after the horrible experience and harassment. Your not god and make up rules as you go. But you’re fine I will take my business elsewhere.

I walked in to get a poison oak shot that would take 10 minutes and they said that I could not get the shot without an appointment then wanted me to wait 4 hours What’s the point in having an urgent care if you can’t even do a walk-in for something as simple as a poison oak shot in my opinion, I wouldn’t even have the place open if it’s not even useful to the community for something that simple

This was my first visit to this facility. The staff and doctor were all very friendly and helpful. It was quick and easy. - a very different experience than I've had at any other urgent care. I will definitely recommend to family and friends.

We've been twice with my daughter, once last year and again this past week because it was close by, and both times we've ended up still making the drive to the WFUBMC Pediatric Urgent Care in Kernersville shortly after for a missed ear infection diagnosis. It's a nice facility and the staff is always friendly, however that doesn't do me any good if they are not any more sufficient than a Teledoc visit. My husband also visited during the same time as my daughter in the most recent visit. He's been having swelling and pain in the forearm. They simply just prescribed a steroid and that was it. They just don't seem as thorough to be the middle point between a GP visit and ER visit. Save your time and money. Do a teledoc visit if you can or just go to an actual hospital affiliated urgent care.

This was my first visit to Cardinal Urgent Care regarding a Covid infection. Staff there is absolutely top drawer! Don’t be thinking that these folks are your run of the mill neighborhood care center. I would rate them on par with my primary care team who are part of a much larger health care system in Winston-Salem. These folks are analytical, thorough, knowledgable and extremely professional. I would not hesitate at all to recommend them to friends and family, and as a matter of fact, have done so already. Give these folks a try. You won’t be sorry!
