List of Novant Health Mountainview Medical Extended Care's Reviews
I implore you to read this review in it’s entirety before considering medical treatment from this facility - On April 15th my husband went to Mountainview Medical Extended care to be seen about a mass on the left side of his neck that had seemingly showed up overnight. Why would he not be seen by his PCP you might ask? Because it was a Monday morning and getting an appointment with your PCP can take days or even weeks. Being seen at Mountainview Medical Extended Care was simply a step in the direction of trying to find out what could be going on. Jennifer Martin, PA-C, is the individual my husband encountered during his visit on April 15th. It was made very clear to Jennifer there was a serious concern from my husband due to a first degree relative having a history of thyroid cancer. With this knowledge in hand, the recommendations that followed were concerning coming from a medical professional that is being trusted by many within the community. Jennifer actually recommended that my husband wait 1-2 months to follow up with his PCP if the mass had remained unchanged. Jennifer also advised against bloodwork or ultrasound imaging due to “how new” the mass was (which is conflicting as to what she has written in her notes from his visit) and stated that insurance would not cover these services being done this soon (billing and insurance is not her area of concern - providing adequate patient care is). Furthermore, Jennifer states in her notes from his visit on 4/15 “Generally we do not send for follow-up of ultrasound and biopsy unless the lymph node has been present and unchanged for 1 month if not 2 months.”. This is interesting considering my husband was seen the morning of April 16th by his PCP, received bloodwork AND an order for a STAT ultrasound of the mass - which he was also able to have done midmorning on 4/16 (which was covered by his commercial health insurance, might I add). As of 4/16 the results from said ultrasound have been reviewed and my husband has been advised to have a chest x-ray and a referral to Piedmont Ear Nose & Throat for a potential biopsy. The biopsy was performed on 4/23 and as of 4/29 his results have come back. My husband was diagnosed with cancer, they have discovered he has lymphoma. Now imagine had he waiting the recommended 1-2 months? What would his prognosis look like then? I will leave with this, it is SO important to advocate for your health or the health of a loved one. And for any healthcare professional who is more interested in pedaling patients in and out, and clearing a paycheck - please for the sake of someone’s else’s health get a different job. Lastly, we would like to thank Dr. Jewell who took our concerns seriously and took the appropriate steps to help get a diagnosis for my husband. EDIT: My husband has been specifically diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma; a very aggressive rapid growing cancer that has already spread to his chest and abdomen. He is set to begin chemotherapy the week of 5/13. The generic response to my initial review fell short to say the least. I hope any member of a healthcare team reading this review remembers that nobody knows their body better than a patient and to think twice before being dismissive under circumstances such as these.
I’m very disappointed, I took my daughter to get tested for the flu she was scared and started to cry. The nurse was so annoyed by her reaction that when she was leaving the room she said this is so stupid very loud I was in shock because that’s very unprofessional. Needless to say I won’t be returning to this place again.
This is the worst place I have gone to. I have tried to go here maybe 3 times and the waits are unheard of. I walked out every time. Every time you go there they just tell you to just go to the hospital. They are a joke.
Man the switch from atrium to novant has been surreal. Had to go back today and check in at 1:50pm not to be checked out til 4:10pm. Thank you for reminding me why not to use novant.
Hours are wrong, not open on Saturdays
I woke to what appeared to be cellulitis in my right leg and finally decided to call my family doctor about noon. They were not able to get me in and suggested I go to Mountainview Medical Extended Care. I got there about 1:45 and there was no one else in the waiting room. Check in was fast, efficient, and friendly and I only waited a few minutes until they took me back. The initial screening was completed and I was seen by Renee Haynes. She was absolutely great - asked good questions, listened, and communicate clearly. I highly recommend her and the excellent facility there.
This place is great. Very friendly and passionate about patients. I wish the doctors here could be my normal provider. Deborah has been amazing to me and my husband, and my two little girls!
Leilani actually saved my life! She diagnosed me with sepsis and referred me to the hospital. She called to check on me several times to ensure I made it to the hospital and everything. I just love her and the care she provides.
Was extremely impressed with the level of care I received at this facility...the sign in staff the nurses (didn’t catch her name but she was amazing )and the PA Deborah James was gentle informative and very caring. They made a scary situation very tolerable and didn't have to wait for hours...about 30 minutes...but they were checking on us while we waited. I highly recommend this facility for your emergency services that don't require an ambulance!
I always have a good experience here, but today was exceptional. Charlene & Rene were the best!! Very nice, thorough, and just awesome! Thank you both.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
