This is the worst doctors office I have ever encountered. After Dr. Blackburn retired and Dr. Harrison left so abruptly this place has gone to hell. The receptionist at the front desk, Kelsey is very rude and is not compassionate at all. We were told that if we wanted to continue as patients to let them know which we did and have been waiting for a call to schedule an appointment with a doctor. My husband had run out of a sleeping aide and we called to find out how we would get that filled and Kelsey was of no help at all. We are not able to get in to see another practice (doctor) until October and we made appointments in June when we thought we would not get back in to the Outer Banks Family Medicine. In the mean time, we are stuck without the ability to get a prescription filled. When we were called to see if we wanted to continue with service we should have been told that it may take up to a year to get it.

I have seen a lot of bad reviews for this medical office lately and I have to say that I have received the best care here. Dr. Handron has been an amazing doctor and I hate that he is leaving the practice but I wish him the best on his new journey. Sadly this office has had to drop and relocate a lot of their patients recently due to what seems like lack of staff but the staffing shortage is affecting everyone and every business and doctors offices are not exempt from the staffing shortage. I can not speak for every one and how every doctor here handles their patients but I myself have received excellent care.

After being with this practice for 40 years they send me a letter saying my appt at the end of the month is canceled and they don't have another doctor to pick it up..want to send me to plymouth to a doctor of some sort I literally live 1 block away from this place and they want to send me to plymouth. I am not even able to ride that far..

This place has gone downhill since dr Blackburn left, it's been 7 days since I sent my medicine refills and have gotten no response, what if it was something I would die if it want taken?? THEY ABSOLUTELY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS ANYMORE and I'm furious with how they are treating patients now

I have only one complaint but it is very essential. This practice neglects to send my refills to the pharmacy in time so I don’t run completely out and I take have medicine I cannot just stop abruptly. Furthermore, this practice sends me into a panic attack every month when I have to call bc it is time for my refills and they aren’t even on file at the pharmacy. I never get my medicine filled early and by law the pharmacist cannot fill early anyway so I along with my pharmacy am confused about what is going on with my medicine not being called in on time.

I moved to NC and had a hard time finding a doctor that would take new medicare patients. I finally found the OBFM and thank God I did. This clinic is awesome. Chris actually takes time to listen to what I have to say. He addresses any concerns and makes sure I understand what he is saying.

I've gone to Dr. Johnny Farrow for over 15 years. He's an excellent physician, as are the rest of the staff there.

They got me all patched up the day before my wedding. The staff was all amazingly friendly and helpful! Very thankful for them and the wonderful care I received!
