List of G. Michael Gould Do's Reviews
In hindsight, should have checked reviews but was so happy to get Appt during this awful time, now I know why he was available, and I wish I can just copy and paste all the negatives I read now, verbatim. I send support to all who experienced negatives. I will forever learn from this cold terrible experience. Totally forgot we saw him several years ago and he dismissed us then, needed this experience like a hole in the head. But those who had great experience I pray for you. Please don't lie. It can't be real when the majority are still reeling from the terrible service. I will follow up, trust me Mr doctor. Please read these. Try to put your ego aside. Remember why your services are required. We are people like you. Earn your wings. Smh. Sadly.
I am writing this review because I wish that I had the foresight to look into Dr. Gould before I let him be in charge of my treatment. I don't want anyone else to be faced with the regret that I am now stuck with. I feel like I didn't do right by myself letting him be my specialist. I don't think he is a bad person, but he is an incredibly selfish and negligent doctor. Facing a new and daunting diagnosis, I felt really uncomfortable around him. I never felt comfortable asking questions or speaking up for myself. He was only ever focused on his vacation time and looked at me, a critically ill IBD patient, as a major burden. He ignored my symptoms time and time again, to the point where I was put in life-threatening, otherwise AVOIDABLE medical situations upwards of 5 times. He left me to fend for myself with regards to arranging life-saving medications. Sadly (and regrettably), I thought this was normal. After I changed GIs (because I couldn't stand his unearned arrogance, neglect and condescension any longer), I learned that it is very much NOT normal take care of sorting out treatment alone, without the help of your specialist. Sitting here reflecting on my experience , I cant help but feel like I was a victim of medical neglect under his care. As a young woman, I would not recommend this doctor to anyone who needs any help with regards to treatment, or any emotional support whatsoever. I wish him the best, and I hope he becomes a better doctor in the future, however I'm feeling the need to inform anyone else with bowel issues of who he is as a doctor before you get stuck with him. I would not recommend.
Don’t bother. I should have listened to the horrible reviews. They turned out to be true. I walked out within 3 minutes of speaking to this person. Don’t expect a doctor who cares with this one. Cherish your health and go to someone who cares about you and your wellbeing. Not someone who acts like you’re a waste of their time.
STAY AWAY! He does NOT care about his patients! He will treat you like you’re bothering him. He will talk down to you and act like you’re stupid and/or crazy. Don’t waste your time! Trust the bad reviews this doctor is TRASH.
Horrible. I came here for help and he was very rude and condescending. He speaks down to his patients. I have chronic shortness of breath and it’s difficult for me to speak very quickly but he was rushing me through my story and my symptoms. He would roll his eyes asking me why Im there if I already had an endoscopy done last year. I said i wanted a second opinion. He said “okay.... “ with a major eye roll. He told me to speak faster. I would tell him a symptom like i have low stomach acid and he would say be specific. Excuse me, I came here for help not to be spoken down to this way. What a waste of time. Listen to the bad reviews because this doctor does not care about you. He acts like his patients are an inconvenience to his life.
I don't know where all the bad reviews come from. He was helpful and very kind. He explained what he thought was my problem clearly and does not at all have a "god complex" like a lot of the reviews say. Overall I had a great experience with him.
This doctor haunts my nightmares. Was referred to him for severe intestinal issues, at my visit he was condescending, rude, ignorant and downright mean. He yelled at me to stop wasting all these doctors time as there was nothing wrong with me it was all in my head and that he would lock me up if I continued talking about how 40% of people experiencing my symptoms commuted suicide. A week later I was hospitalized and my surgeon said it was the WORST case he had ever seen!!!! I now have a permanent colostomy bag as my colon, intestines etc were completely diseased and unsalvageable . I’ve had 18 surgeries in the last 3 years while according to this “specialist “ I was making it all up . Seeing this mans face makes me sick.
This doctor is very caring and knowledgeable! I have had several colonoscopies from him and endoscopy and him and the staff were always great with no issues!
Negligent in missing a cancer diagnosis. Ignored symptoms. Rushed colonoscopy- 15 min.. said no issues
His secretary was always very supportive in getting me appointments and punctuality was regulated by the hospital so although this elevates Dr. Gould's overall rating, these are not related to his treatment. I have had three colonoscopies with Dr. Gould over the past 20 years. The first two were not problematic but this last one left some issues. Although the colonoscopy has nothing to report, a severe fissure developed and I was aware of this one day post colonoscopy. When I called him back about this he suggested I use an over the counter drug - hydrocortisone and suggested lactose intolerance or possibly diverticulitis be investigated. I have never had these issues before and had to go to my family doctor for meds to work through this. Now three months post colonoscopy my fissure has yet to go away and I am often in pain. It wasn't worth calling him back for help as was not overly receptive so I am seeking other supports. He has changed his practice and I would not waste my time calling him or referring him to others. Some of his patients who I referred to Dr. Gould years ago have commented on having troubling experiences with their recent colonoscopy care. Look elsewhere for someone who is more supportive and effective at treating patients. Do NOT book with Dr. Gould.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
