Caromont Regional Medical Center - Mount Holly's Online Review Report Card

I previously was seen 2 days ago at this location because I was having some discomfort and pain and it was a pleasant visit , tonight I went back in because of the same thing and that I was feeling even worse - I was blown off and not taken seriously.The doctor - doctor Sara Jacob , that seen me was extremely dismissive & lied on her after summary notes about the visit - she said i have an unhealthy fascination with my problem area & that she believes that I was lying about my issues & I just didn’t want to tell the truth. If I had anything to hide , I wouldn’t go to the hospital asking for help so it definitely was hurtful to see and read.She didn’t exam me , touch me , look at anything.Just told me “ this isn’t what the ER is for and there’s nothing she could do for me”

This hospital is killing my grandmother and Idk what to do.., do not bring your family here.

Excellent job taking care of family member involved in auto accident. Clean, attentive, kept us informed, fast turnaround getting test results.

My son was hurt at an out of town wrestling meet and we ended up in the er under Mr. Daniel  Lowder, a PA, care. It was a very bad experience all around. My son who was in more pain than I've ever seen was given ibuprofen and made to wait 50 minutes before given anything else. When the pain had zero change after the 55 minutes they gave him a hydrocodone pill which helped him a ton. After an x-ray they sent us home with nothing knowing a snow storm was coming that night and it would be at least 3 days before we could see his regular doctor. I asked the pa if he could give us three of the pills that he had gave him just to last him until he could see his regular doctor and he flat out told me no and walked out. Total time this man was in the room was maybe 2 minutes from start to finish of our 2 hour er visit. I understand not wanting to give big prescriptions to things that can be abused but to send him home with nothing knowing we would be snowed in for days was more heartless. I clearly just asked him for "2 or 3 pills to last atleast until he could see the orthopedic doctor they said he should see. His flat matter of fact answer and how he immediately turned and walked out after that and wouldn't return made me feel like he thought we was there just to get medicine. Not only was he aware that we were an hour and a half from our home. My son was literally in his wrestling singlet. He wasn't even able to put a shirt over it because he could not move his arm. Not only that but I had a video of the whole accident on my phone and was able to show him in slow motion him landing and his arm bending backward. He treated my son like he was just trying to get pain medicine. It was not just insulting but knowing that his actions would mean my son would be snowed in for days because of this man was unbearable. Anyone that would treat a preteen in this way should not ever be in a position to do this to someone else's kid. I would recommend no one see this man but for sure if you have a child that has been hurt this is the last person you want to see. I never leave reviews like this but if it keeps one parent from going through what I went through it's worth it.

I just witnessed a employee at the hospital tell a patient that she might want to go to another hospital...The lady was definitely in pain and was crying walking inside....This is definitely the worst hospital I ever been to

Took wonderful care of my dear sweet grandpa. Fast, kind, careful, and professional. If you’re looking to expedite your loved one’s care and get treated like a person, go here, Gastonia ER is trash.

This is the worst hospital to visit. They don't do anything to help,just sit there for however long and discharge you with a bill. It seems they go out of their way to do the bare minimum and charge you a arm and leg. I told them I was uninsured and everyone cleared the room I was discharged shortly after , screaming in pain to only be ignored. This place don't really care for the people,they only want money

I called to see what the wait time was, which the staff that answered the phone informed me they do not give wait times out. Which I have no problem calling any medical facility in Charlotte, or surrounding and getting a wait time. But besides that she said she was in the back and did not know what the front looked like. So I asked if I could talk to the front desk and she sighed and hung the phone up. Skip this medical facility all together, you might actually live.

In past years I had bad experiences here but my last visit where I was seriously ill was great. When I arrived the lobby was packed and so I expected the wait to be long. However, my whole trip was just 3 hours! 3 hours total in an ER--a miracle! I have high blood pressure and was so scared they would focus on that and not my main issue because that had happened on the past, but they didn't and I was so grateful. They got me on fluids, got me pain meds which were nice, and immediately got samples and ran tests and sent out to lab. Lab called with diagnosis and am on medication now. I am so relieved to have a diagnosis even though I am still suffering and there is a chance antibiotics won't work, but that has nothing to do with the hospital. Nurses, doctor, and safety officer were all nice too.
