List of The Outer Banks Hospital Emergency Department's Reviews
Came here with a friend who had an accident and hurt his leg. He got the best care from a wonderful staff.
I was going to give this place 1 star but turned it around the last half of our visit because of two people. Dr Gordon and most importantly our nurse Jessica. As for issues, the wait was crazy, the hospital and room could have been a lot cleaner and it took forever for us to be seen but needed to understand Staffing issues and being busy when you're the only ER in the area. Anyways, after a long wait I was not a happy parent while there worried about my child and was probably very difficult at times for the nurse and staff as I was frustrated, exhausted, worried and asked a lot of questions but when things really turned around was when I realized my concerns were being heard and addressed by the Dr and she gave me as many options as I wanted in being as thorough as possible with addressing worries with my child. Following this was a LOT of testing needing to be done and my 6 yr old had never experienced any of them, even a blood draw. She was dehydrated and I worried so bad she would need to be poked Many times. I was blown away at how well Jessica was with my her, the communication, helping her feel comfortable with the least amount of pain as possible. She really did an amazing job and my attitude quickly changed. It's easy to get frustrated In these situations and when exhausted and after waiting hrs to be seen. But ultimately what matters is the care you receive. Thank you Nurse Jessica for being so great with my daughter and making a scary situation a little less scary. You're a great nurse and sound like a great momma too.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
