If I could give zero stars I would. So completely unprofessional and completely lost all of my information
Dr. Healy and his staff are caring professionals. My experience was great considering why I was there🙄. Dr. Healy called me with test results and action plan. Very satisfied with the practice.
If you need to reschedule an appointment it's always going to be another two months before you can get another.
They were all very nice the doctor was a kind man
I am so glad I chose not to move forward with this company after my experience and seeing these reviews. Scheduling was a pain, which is par for the course with specialists. I was surprised when I asked for an appointment sooner, was told they would call back if there was a cancellation, and they actually did. Upon making my appointment, I was told to arrive at 8:15 for 8:30 appointment for paperwork. Personally, an office that has not digital intake forms is kind of sad these days but again, it’s what you can expect with doctors in this area. Day of my appointment, I ran late and arrived at 8:33 for my 8:30 appointment where I was asked to arrive at 8:15. I immediately apologized and the woman behind the desk was smug and told me to wait. She went to the offices and returned to tell me my appointment was canceled! I drove 40 minutes from Swansboro to this appointment! at this point I was still calm and asked why no one called me when the decision was made this morning to tell me so I could at least turn around. At this point the other woman behind the desk turned around and smartly said ”we called you yesterday to remind you“. I get it, I was late. But at no point was there a cancellation notice or comment that appointments would be let go. I’ve never had a dr do this. When people go to see a specialist, they generally don’t feel well. The ladies behind the desk were wildly apathetic and could have cared less about my situation. Honestly, it felt like they were happy to remind me I was late and it was my fault it was canceled. An office staff that actually cared would have called at the moment the appointment was canceled to attempt to reschedule. Ultimately, office staff is a reflection of what leadership allows to happen. I am so lucky I did not waste time with this office and doctor. It must be nice to have so much business you can have total disregard for prospective clients. Judging by the reviews, no one even cares to try to improve. I immediately called my pcp, explained the situation, was referred to a new gastro. They called same day and were amazing! They even scheduled me for a work in the following week. Also much better reviews. You can tell they actually care about their prospective patients unlike CCHC.
Received an incorrect diagnosis and the medicine prescribed to me did not help in the slightest!
This is the worst medical practice I have ever dealt with. No matter what your circumstances, it is very difficult to even get a returned call in less than 24 hours. Regardless of the problem you are having, you will never get a work-in appointment. They will just tell you to go to the emergency room. To clarify, this has not been a one-time occurrence, they have sent me over to the ER at least 5 times. In the past 7 days, they have sent me twice. On both occasions, the ER informed me that my GI should be managing these symptoms, and there was little they could do. I saw my primary care doctor this week, and she said the same thing. This office does not seem to care at all about its patients.
Dr Joe Healy is great. A mild mannered gentleman who is a wonderful, caring doctor. Along with a highly competent staff, this is an excellent specialty practice in New Bern! Thanks for the care you have given me…
Dr. Byrd did both my colonoscopy and endoscopy and he was amazing!! I was of course nervous and he talked to me until I was sedated and kept me calm. The PA’s I saw in NB and Morehead were fantastic as well. The surgical staff was also exceptional.
The doctors and PAs are great but apparently very busy. I would have thought to allow for emergency situations might have been part of their scheduling process. I had a sever diverticulitis flare up on Thanksgiving and still in lots of pain 5 days later and the soonest they could get me on was February!!! Unacceptable.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
