Had knee op and he did a great job very nice person as all his staff are I recommend him
I had a knee replacement in 2017. It has always felt like it was too large. After mentioning this to Dr Wertman he did an xray and told me it was fine. I am always aware of my knee. It feels as though it is on the front where the knee cap was and on the right side too. The right side of my knee is numb also. It also felt like below my knee was bruised and tender all the time like it was too long . I have talked with other people that have had knee replacements and they got along so much better than I. They dont experience these symptoms. I still to this day feel the replacement was too large for my knee. Always do research when you are getting something as invasive as a knee replacement. Choose wisely wish I had
My husband fell on his knee and contacted Wertmans office who scheduled the appointment for the next day. We told them that we had no access to medical records in that short notice and they said that was fine at this time we could have xrays done onsight. When Dr. Wertman entered the exam room he was very irritated with us that he had no medical history about my husbands back surgery from 12 weeks prior that left him in a wheelchair and explained I would have never agreed to see you if I knew you were a quadriplegic Firstly we found that very offensive discriminatory and also incorrect he can move all limbs and can stand with assistance... nothing like kicking a man when he is down Secondly he was very rude and treated us with disrespect. When he left the room we both exclaimed What an as...does he only see completely healthy patients and not patients in wheelchairs? We had heard great things about this office but will never go back and instead go to Duke.
NO
Dr Wertman has done 2 knee replacements and 1 shoulder replacement for me due to severe arthritis. He is absolutely top notch He ensures that my pain is at a minimum and that my rehab is more than sufficient. His bedside manner is excellent...he is extremely easy to talk to about any issues that impact my healthwellbeing. My feeling is that people who give him a bad rating are people who think that orthopaedic surgery rehab should essentially be pain free. Of course it wont be pain free But with Dr Wertmans skill at surgery you will have the very best road to recovery as possible. He does his work now the patient has to do their work to rehab and make progress.
negative
Had to wait an hour in the waiting room for a scheduled appoitment for my wife Very poor
My mother was treated for a broken wrist and hurt shoulder by Dr. Wertman and left with screws in her hand and her shoulder range of motion severely limited. He gave her a 10 percent rating on her wrist and no rating on the shoulder now we have to take her to see another doctor because of his ineptitude and lack of concern for the elderly. Do yourself and your loved one a big favor. Do not see this Doctor. The one star I gave him is too high
When I told Dr. Weitzman that I had heard some bad reviews about their physical therapy department he addressed it immediately. He was always very pleasant and attentive to my needs and I had a very successful arthroscopic surgery on my left knee.
He seems to be very knowledgeable. Takes his time getting to the right diagnosis.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
