List of Nizar Habal's Reviews
i had a horrible experience, this man was to only do a mastectomy, i told him emphatically nothing extra, nothing cosmetic only medically necessary, just mastectomy, i repeated this over and over. He did a totally unnecessary procedure anyway just for money and later when i confronted him he starts yelling at me while i'm half dressed. Please do yourself a favor go elsewhere or record or video your discussions with him, i don't believe this was the first time he has done this. I've had some kind of scar tissue or nerve damage from that un asked for procedure ever since..beware
Wonderful Dr and staff explained everything I needed him to explain about my breast cancer diagnosis. Compassionate and caring. Spent a lot with me and answered all my concerns. I would highly recommend him and his staff.
I feel grateful and privileged that I was able to have Dr. Habal for my surgeon.Along with the Great Surgeon above I am cancer free. No pain after lumpectomy, and he rebuilt the breast area so that it looks absolutely untouched by cancer. Amazing results!! Dr. Habal is an extremely skilled and caring surgeon.
I reluctantly went with this surgeon for breast cancer when I couldn't get in anywhere else in the middle of the pandemic during the holidays. I regret every single day that I did not listen to my gut instinct and walk out that first appointment when it was abundantly clear he had never read my chart. I am left scarred, physically and emotionally, from the entire experience with this physician. Nerve damage, limited options now for reconstruction, extensive surgery in a day surgical center(?!), doesn't follow guidelines, rude staff, 3+ hour wait for appointments... the list is long. He got super nasty when I had surgical complications and refused to treat it or the pain it caused. Not getting the right treatment initially has cut years off my life. If you are diagnosed with breast cancer: take your time and find the right care team. Trust your instinct. Be your own advocate. Don't be afraid to walk out, demand better. Where you start your treatment journey impacts your outcome.
Accolades all around for Dr. Habal and his staff. Breast cancer is terrifying... They took the fear away. Thank you.
My sister had surgery with this person (I refuse to call this person a doctor) on 3/16/2022. This surgeon attempted to send her home with no narcotic analgesia post a mastectomy. He attempted to send her home taking Tylenol 1000mg every six hours and Motrin 600 mg every six hours. She was told to alternate the two OTC meds. His decision was based on a NarxCare report that apparently this person nor his staff knew how to read. She was given 10 hydrocodone tablets to "get her over the hump." Shame on this person and his staff. Apparently the staff doesn't take patient advocacy seriously. How could you treat any human in this manner? Surely, you'd care better for a dog. It's okay though. We know this isn't the norm & if she wasn't a person of color, she would have gotten everything she wanted whether she needed it or not. It's okay, though. We will continue to seek resolution for our loved one. This review isn't the finale.
Dr Habal is a great surgeon. He removed cancer from my breast and I felt no pain afterwards and healing fast. I recently visited him to confirm that I didn't have cancer in other breast. He is always compassionate, kind, and does not rush me. I love him.
I cannot say enough about the care and treatment I received from Dr. Habal. I trusted him with my life, and I would do it again if I needed to. Sometimes, there is a wait. I am ok with that, because in the next room, someone may be receiving a devastating diagnosis and he is taking the time to explain and listen, as he did with me.
Dr. Habal saved my life. I’m forever thankful for his heartfelt and exceptional knowledge as well as his staff. He and his practice will forever be in my grateful heart-Thank you Dr. Habal and staff.
In the beginning, he was generally good, though he refused to make a recommendation for my surgical procedure; always seemed in a hurry; & never discussed my official cancer stage (the nurse finally provided the information). Unfortunately, 4-years later, the wait-times suddenly increased when my appts. were moved to afternoons (the office mails letters informing patients of the day/time 4-6 weeks in advance). By Year #5 & after having MULTIPLE appointments with 2-3 HOUR wait-times, I finally pointed-out that this was excessive & a problem. He only made excuses; never apologized; & never admitted that patients deserve respect too, so we mutually "parted ways." There's a reason for the statement about "patient delays" & "patients in crisis" in his exam rooms & the excuse will continue if patients don't complain.... This could be resolved by limiting excessive over-booking; keeping low-risk appts. to 1-2 days/week; partnering with other doctor(s); & respecting patients & their time

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
