Don't go tu dis less care sugerion surgeon
Dr. Williams seems nice enough but not very willing to talk or explain in laymans terms to those who are not familiar with medical terminology and spinal procedures. He does the surgery and then you never see him again, which is my concern. I have been tossed off to PAs-physician assistants too often and after surgery is not when I feel is appropriate nor am I comfortable. We think physicians are arrogant now we have to worry about PA's. I've found one at his office to be rude, short, unwilling to talk, overly confident and all business with a know it all attitude. Get over yourself please!!!! The initial appt. is with a PA when you think you are actually going to see Dr. Williams. I've had neck surgery at Duke which is like an assembly line but pre op and both follow up visits were with the surgeon who did my surgery! I know surgeons are busy but what are we more interested in, successful outcomes and patient satisfaction or the money we can make by pushing through so many surgeries we don't have time to follow up ourselves but just read the PA's documentation????
Dr. Williams was very personable upon meeting him for the first time. He listened to my explanation of my symptoms and explained the CT and MRI scan results to me. We discussed doing a Khyoplasty for a fractured vertebrae. It it my belief that Dr. Williams is a very good physician and has a great bedside manner. I would have given this review five stars but my Kyphoplasty experience was _ _ _ _. There was no problems with the preparation the morning of my procedure until the gentleman who went in before myself (who was having a kyphoplasty also) started to holler and moan. I could hear his procedure as it was being performed. I could hear the actual hammering of the trocar into his vertebrae. I began to panic but was reassured by the staff that it would be okay as I would be sedated, be asleep, and not remember anything. As a nurse (RN) I should have lisened to my better judgment and got up an went home. I went into the procedure room right after the man who hollered and moaned throughout his kyhpoplasty procedure. I too screamed and hollered into the starting of my procedure. It hurt like - - - - and I felt myself trying to get away. I screamed through most of the procedure and was screaming in the recovery area. This was a nightmare for me as this procedure is very painful. I could feel the terrible pain and was partially sedated. I learned that general anesthesia is a must for Khyphoplasty procedures. Sedation is inappropriate for Kyphoplasty procedures. It is inhumane to put a patient through what I went through and what I heard the gentleman go through. I hope this review will help future patients. Otherwise, my care at the Pinehurst Spine Center was good.
Dr. Williams did my back surgery and went back in for follow up, I was in such pain and all the screws had come out. had more surgery, and for the last two years have been in constant pain with sciatic nerve, cannot sleep at night, can't lay on that side , went back and told him this and didn't off any solution, so sometimes the pain is unbearable. A miserable life. Didn't have this pain before the screws came out. I like Dr. Williams but wish he would have helped me. My pain before was bad before the surgery but now its worse.
Diagnosis the problems, offers solutions, has great.concern for his patients, he is ready to help to the best of his ability, he and his staff! Highly recommend him!
This doctor promised to fix my scoliosis. I went through he'll after surgery. And 4 years later, I can't even work or stand on my feet for longer than 3 hours. Please DO NOT go to him if you have scoliosis. Please find a doctor that is honest and forth right. Someone who is detail oriented and who wants to see you live a life pain free.
AS wonderful an experience involving back surgery can be! Great Dr. Williams displayed skill and bedside manner that was terrific. I went in to pre-op at 6am and I was on the way home at 2pm. Not bad, I'd say.
Being my 3rd back surgery I was looking for relief soon. Dr Williams wasn't much on personality, but I just brushed that off, being a paramedic I'm used to dealing with people like that. However, as far as having him do my surgery to where I'm pain free, I give him a 10/10. I feel better now than I have in a long time, he did fusion of l5-s1. His PA, on the other hand, was very nice, very personable and fun to be around and talk to. I had a very good experience dealing with Dr. Williams staff, no problems here
This doctor does not take the time to speak with his patients or thoroughly go over treatment procedures/plan. Dr. Williams and his spine care team do not take care of their military patients. Patients are briefed during pre-op one thing for example recovery time, but once you have the surgery your recovery time changes from 6 weeks to 4 weeks. It seems as if deals are made with Womack to send Soldiers back to work with less recovery time than their civilian patients, which affects the Soldier's recovery and rehabilitation. If you are military, I recommend you find another doctor that will not compromise your care. You will never see Dr. Williams until it's time for your surgery. He spends less that 10 mins with you throughout the entire process.
Dr. Williams performed a 2 level fusion, but had placed a pedicle screw incorrectly causing facet arthritis where the screw was rubbing against the facet joint. Was seen by another surgeon who had to remove the hardware.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
