David E. Strom's Online Review Report Card

He performed total ankle replacement on me in 2003 and it works as well now as it did back then. Because this was (and to some extent still is) a rare surgery, Dr. Strom has remained interested and engaged in the miraculous results almost 20 years later. Not only a great surgeon but a compassionate and caring person.

Extremely pleased with my initial visit and follow up visit. My ankle was swollen and could not put weight on it. After x-rays and careful examination he noticed a small spider bite behind my knee and told me deep tissue infection due to the spider bite. Prescribed antibiotics and it cleared up within a week. He is direct, to the point and knows his stuff.

Dr. David Strom is a nice guy, friendly but as a surgeon he gets 1*. Why he did a hammer toe surgery in September 2020. I was in a lot of post surgery pain. He told me I just needed to tape it. On my 2nd follow up he told me nothing was wrong even though I was waking up with pain in the middle of the night. Again he told me I needed to tape it a different way. I knew something was wrong.I went to another doctor for a consultation who asked me if I had a pin put in my toe during surgery. There was no pin. He explained because I didn’t have the pin is why I was in pain because my tenions were being restricted and a pin would help them stretch.The only way to relieve my pain was to do another surgery. I had a 2nd surgery in December. A pin was put in and I never experienced the pain like I got from Strom. Unfortunately my toe is messed up and will be forever it’s uncomfortable but I am not in pain.I did make a complaint with Pinehurst Surgicial. I trust they look into his procedures.On a final note in 2006 Strom did my bunions and told me they would grow back and would look the same when I was in my 70’s but by then it wouldn’t matter. I trusted him. I found out I should had pins in my bunions so the bone wouldn’t grow back. I am in my mid 50’s and my bunions are already growing back.Strom lacks a higher surgeon practice & skill. I suggest you don’t go to Strom for Orthropedic care.

$60 copay, can't wait for full bill, for 55 seconds of time. One question asked. Period.

I saw Dr. Strom yesterday for pain in the heel of my right foot, fortunately no bone spur but plantar faciitis, treated with a cortisone injection. I could actually take a step and walk when I got out of bed this morning with no stabbing pain on the bottom of my foot. Dr. Strom performed my foot surgery (bone fusion) on my left foot back in 2004 and I have not had anymore pain/issues since my recovery which was about 3 months. Prior to the surgery and being taken into the operating room the nurse could tell I was nervous and told me, "You have a really good surgeon and I'm not just telling you that to make you feel better, he's one of the best and I really mean that." Those were her exact words to me. I will always remember and be thankful for the care provided and recommend Dr. Strom to anyone.

I am so glad to have an excellent Orthopedic Surgeon here in Rockingham. I have just had surgery on my big toe and I am very happy with the results. I appreciate his confidence, knowledge and care throughout this procedure.

Dr. Strom spent very little time with me. He did not know what was wrong with my foot and leg. When I told him my symptoms he answered rudely, "That doesn't help me." He spent 5 min or less with me on each of my appointments. His answer was to give me a cortisone shot. After months of no results, I went to another doctor in Sanford. He spent a considerable amount of time with me asking questions and explaining what the problem was. Within 2 months of seeing him I was able to walk without pain again. Please look up Dr. Strom with the NC Medical Board to see his record. I do not recommend Dr. Strom.

Dr. Strom is wonderful.very kind, knowledgeable and patient. I had gone to another Ortho guy in Fayetteville he was rushed, kept putting me off and wouldn't listen. Dr. Strom was none of these things.
