Dr. Karpenko saved my life when I was diagnosed with a mass that surrounded my trachea. He immediately brought the team together and started chemo and radiation which was a life threatening situation on a Holliday weekend (NYE). Without a doubt I would highly recommend his expertise as an Oncologist

I am new to the area and needed to establish care with a oncologist/hematologist. I contacted First Health Cancer and was given an appt with Dr. K. I had a 10 minute visit with the doctor and my insurance was charged $540! Of which, I owe $300! Since then I have had to contact him and I find he doesn’t listen to my concerns and he doesn’t reply to my questions through My Chart. I was having pain in my left hip and asked about a referral for a MRI. As a breast cancer survivor, pain as I was having was a concern. His nurse contacted me and I was told the doctor said I would need to go to a primary care that he wasn’t treating me for hip pain. From my previous experience with my Indianapolis oncologist he provided total body care. I was astounded and requested to change doctors, but was told by his nurse that I am not able to change to another doctor in the practice. I was told I would have to go elsewhere. So, no I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!

I was with Dr K in Salisbury MD with a difficult case of aggressive NHL. He was attentive and immediately admitted me to the hospital and started chemotherapy which saved my life. He was with me through the entire 5 day ordeal keeping my family and I up to date on my treatment and prognosis. After 2 rounds of 6 I am cancer free!!! Thank you Dr K for your expertise, knowledge, compassion, and care to get me through this awful experience. You made it great and cannot thank you enough.

Met him in NC. Explains things well that I can understand. Communicates well, kind, and compassionate. Available to answer questions- has even called me to check in. Highly recommended.

I miss and love Dr Karpenko. He was my cancer doctor at the Auburn, NY H&O. He really cares about his patients. Wish he was still in Auburn. He is really the best.!!!!!!!!

Great personality and wonderful doctor. I don't know where he went but must have good reasons. Sorry to see him leave, He was the best and whoever gets him is very lucky to have him. Talks to me like a family member and does what is best for me. It's apparent that he loves what he does. He went above and beyond to help me. All the very best to you Dr. K in your future endeavors. Auburn lost a phenomenal doctor.

Dr. Karpenko is a kind and compassionate physician. He does what he thinks is best for me and is not afraid to get a second opinion if needed. He works well with outside cancer centers and coordinates my care locally. Keeps me informed and in the loop. He's on time. Office is clean and the staff at HOA is the best! Thank you all for everything you do. Would not go anywhere else.
