List of Reid C. Vegeler's Reviews
He is an excellent professional and cares for the welfare of his patients.
I would and have recommended this wonderful physician to several people. He is very compassionate, and takes as much time as one needs to thoroughly answer all questions and explain procedures. He has had many years of experience in his specialty and obviously is excellent at what he does. I give him 5 stars.
Prompt and professional service and excellent provider
Dr. Vegeler did an outstanding job on my recent surgery. He has great communication skills and has been very patient about carefully explaining all aspects of my condition and my options for treatment. He has enough experience to provide the skills needed, but is still young enough that he is acquainted with newer techniques and possible alternative treatments.
I had my first visit and procedure with him today. He was patient, explained the situation, talked during the procedure and afterward. I wish i had been referred to him much earlier. Great doctor!
My mother had intestinal surgery with Dr. Vegeler. During the pre-op visits, he appeared less than interested, even yawned several times, stating he had been on call. But she still felt confident with him. The surgery itself was without incident, but she had a few questions and concerns before going home. However, during Dr. Vegeler’s inpatient post op visit the next day, appeared tired, frustrated, and in a hurry. He was completely cold, uninterested, rushed, and vague with his discharge. He was in and out in about 3 minutes. When she went to the office for her post op follow up appointment, he was so rude, condescending, and belittling that he literally made her cry. He showed no concern at all as she cried, completely apathetic. My mother is 69 years old, and is genuinely the kindest, sweetest person I’ve ever known. She was/is devastated. She has never been treated that way by a physician (and absolutely never should have been.) The fact that he treated her that way is reprehensible. I wish I had been there with her. My advice : If you are considering surgery, you should definitely explore other options. There are definitely surgeons who genuinely care about people. Keep looking until you find one.
Just had surgery yesterday for a routine colonsoscopy. Dr. Vegeler bedside demeanor was wonderful. He would not place you at risk and assured me he has my best interest at heart.
I have been seeing Dr. Vegeler since 2017 and STILL have utter confidence in him. He listens and cares. He is also very knowledgeable and discusses the pros and cons to different treatments. He is conservative, yet proactive and will not try and rush you into surgery. He will not hesitate to schedule surgery if you really need it, so do not worry about this issue. A lot of patients have this concern about surgeons. Not him. His secretary, Jennifer, is pleasant, does not rush you and I know, she just listened to me on the phone! I am a family practice doctor and just scheduled another appointment with him. He is good.
My visits with Dr. Vegelar’s office were nothing but superior! His staff is very friendly, considerate as well as knowledgeable! During my hospital stay, his bedside manner was attentive and I could not tell him enough how grateful I was for selecting him as my surgeon. Even though I considered physicians in my hometown for my procedure, Dr. Vegelar was the BEST choice!
My husband was referred to Dr Vegeler after he had a polyp removed during a coloscopy that turned out to be cancer. We were extremely anxious. Dr Vegeler took a lot of time with us explaining the surgery he would do- he listens- asks questions. He is a very caring person. We had complete confidence in him. The surgery took longer than expected- maybe 4 1/2 hours. A nurse called me during the surgery to let me know how he was doing. Afterwards Dr Vegeler came to see me in the Surgical Waiting Room to explain everything. While my husband was hospitalized, he came by at least once a day and spent a lot of time with us. We highly recommend him.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
