From Day One, I have felt a warm sense of community and connection with staff and residents, while being able to maintain the independence I thought I might lose in a setting like this. Love the rural surroundings: our belted Galloway cattle and goats (and even chickens), our woodsy trails, our professors who stimulate us, and our beautiful village nearby (we’re definitely not rubes!).

I spent weeks with my (then) 93 year old father looking at various sites in the Triangle area for him to move to. He was moving from Florida so he wanted a place that would facilitate his meeting new people and would have a variety of activities that were age appropriate. We toured over a dozen places in Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, Apex, Raleigh, and Pittsboro. Galloway Ridge stood out as the front runner for both me and my dad. It had a first class feel to it (with all the services to match) plus it just felt like home. The site is in a natural rural setting yet close to all the needed conveniences. Perfect balance. We were both hooked.

I am very pleased with my decision to move to Galloway...it is all I expected it to be. Fine staff, friendly residents, excellent food and lots to do. The apartments, hallways, and public places are tastefully decorated. The gardens are very special.

We moved to Galloway Ridge just ahead of the pandemic and are so thankful we did! It was wonderful to have an extremely secure place and amazingly responsive staff to make our home life as comfortable as possible, while waiting for things to get better. If you read all the earlier posts about how terrific Galloway Ridge is, know that we heartily agree! The residents are extremely friendly and come from many backgrounds and places. This makes life interesting. You can be as involved as you wish, or not, with no pressure either way. Our apartment thrilled us with the remodeling done upon move in. It's secure, convenient and lovely. We can't think of a better place to be and we did a lot of investigation!!
