He listened to me and treated my problems with great concern where other doctors would just write scripts before I finished. Dr. Champey is a good man and great doctor who cares about his patients.

One of the worst doctors I have ever seen, don't go here if you have a choice.

Don't go here! Just don't. If you have any choice to go anywhere else, go there instead. The lady at the front desk was unfriendly and rushed. Fine, everyone has bad days, I thought. Then we met the doctor. Oh my word! He was rude. He had a chip on his shoulder and was annoyed that he had to see us from the get-go. My son has seen other neurologist before we moved here, and they all took their time with him, asking about patient history and seeing what we needed help with. This doctor didn't ask questions. I had to keep trying to get bits and pieces of my son's history in as the doctor would allow me to speak. He was very pompous. He made us feel so small and unimportant. He was ready to throw meds out before he knew anything about my son, yet he was unable to answer my questions because, and I quote, "How would I know? I just met your son." It was one of the most frustrating doctor visits I've ever been through. It took everything inside of me not to lecture him about kindness and manners and not herding people in and out of the door, and asking about patient history. Don't see him. It was awful! When we went to checkout, they told us that the next available appointment for a follow-up is 5 months from now. I asked if we could please schedule the follow-up with someone other than Dr. Champey. This woman was just as rude. I'm sure there are wonderful people at this facility, but I surely did not meet any of them today.

This doctor is a quack! And he doesn’t schedule appointments to talk with families when they clearly reach out to tell him something is wrong! My mother has had a rapid decline inside of 4 weeks. I tried to schedule an earlier appointment than her oct appointment and I was told the earliest they could see me for a consult appointment would be the end of December. & do to his lack of care she is now hospitalized at Vidant medical center. I wouldn’t even give one star but I had to just so I could say this. Smh

My father has been an established patient of Dr. Champey's for some time. Today, Dr. Champey declined to see him when he was a late for his appointment. We certainly understand the impact to other patients when the doctor is delayed, but there was a complete lack of willingness to work with him or recognize the urgency of the situation that is alarming. My father experienced stroke-like symptoms and was diagnosed as having had a TIA in the emergency room. He was instructed to follow up with his neurologist and be evaluated as soon as possible. It was further recommended that he work with his neurologist to have an MRI. The earliest appointment he could get with Dr. Champey was FIVE days after the TIA occurred, and Dr. Champey would not agree to order the MRI prior to the appointment. When circumstances caused my father to arrive late for the appointment, the doctor would not see him. There was no consideration given to the reason he was there to see the doctor or the urgency that may have been involved. There was no offer to help get him rescheduled as soon as possible. In addition, my father had an appointment with Dr. Champey two weeks earlier, and when he arrived he learned that the doctor was not there and his appointment was rescheduled with no notice. Perhaps if he had been seen two weeks prior by someone in that office, the symptoms that led to this could have been addressed earlier. We will never know. But we do now know that Dr. Champey would rather be negligent in his treatment of existing patients than disrupt his schedule the slightest bit.

Hi this was my second visit with dr champey and I find myself disappointed he seems to be rushed like it’s a get you in get out so on to the next one he saw me for seizures and I also have a pituitary tumor that I told him on the first visit I would have a mri and send him a copy of the results well I verified with the nurse he had them but the talk about the tumor was completly blown off as he said he’s never looked at my scans

I read the bad reviews of this office before my visit and had trepidations but honestly, after my visit I don't understand. Everyone was polite, eager to help and Dr. Champey is a no nonsense Physician who was thorough and concise. He explained his preferred course of action and explained his reasoning.

After two visits I canceled the rest of my appointments with him. He appears uninterested in the ailment, acting preoccupied. Advertises that he specializes in Parkinson’s Patients, yet doesn’t know about general movement disorder. If he doesn’t care, then I don’t care to see him.
