Patient care is minimal and trying to push esthetician services instead of the doctors doing their job. Anything removed from your face or body should be done by a dermatologist. I saw PA Maybelle who was very nice the first time I saw her, went to see her 3 months later and she seemed harried. Asked her for a similar procedure that she did for me and she refused saying the first time was a courtesy and I would have to see the esthetician. Ridiculous since she had no problems doing it the first time and never mentioned that it was not her job. It would have taken her merely a minute to remove milia from my cheek.

Poor Quality of Care. I am doubtful that some of the surgical procedures were necessary. They did a biopsy on a spot, stated it was pre cancerous, scheduled me for mohs surgery and upon arrival, couldn't find the spot. It had miraculously disappeared. Which brings me to question if the other mohs surgeries were necessary. I also had another spot that was marked for biopsy (which would have been a total of 4) that they forgot to biopsy (although they charged for 4 spots). I noticed it marked and not biopsy when I went to take a shower; it also miraculously disappeared before they could schedule the biopsy. They even had pictures of the spots and couldn't find them. We have really good insurance, the platinum plan, I find it interesting that even though they are in network for the plan that the insurance barely covered 1/3rd of the costs. I received bills from several practices, it seemed all for the same thing. They have lack of communications in their office. Several times the appointment was cancelled at the last minute and then re-scheduled for a month later. One time they called me an hour before the appointment and told me they changed my appointment to be an hour earlier. Really they send out at least 4 notifications and they all have the time and dat on them. If you did that they would charge you.My wife has also had multiple issues with the practice.

How about the appointment that wasn't? I waited 3 months for today. Showed up, masked up and ready. I walked in, gave my name then handed over my driver's license and insurance card. The lady at the desk then asked to take my temperature at my head. Nope, not happening. I offered my wrist, as this is an accepted form of capturing ones temperature all over the world and at schools, nope, they insisted on aiming at my head.(I would invite you all to research so you are educated for future reference) No other options were offered nor was the office manager available to speak to. She was conveniently "gone until Monday". So, a patient is to believe the only form of capturing ones temperature is to aim at another's head? Nope.  This is a medical office so no one has a oral thermometer that has been used for decades? I read the reviews which many of them are not good. I chose to look beyond that and follow through with my appointment. A total waste of time, complete ignorance on behalf of this "office manager" and should have "listened" to what many others have said.

At this practice, you are not seen as a patient but rather as a billing opportunity. My husband, son and I have been patients here for years. Since this practices "affiliation" with Arundel Dermatology is has been a nightmare. They actually charged us a "new patient" fee because my husband had not been there in 2 years. He then had a mole surgically removed and had an adverse reaction (infection) when the sutures were removed.They proceeded to charged him for 4 yes 4 follow up visits that were brought on the their incompetence. Unbelievable !!We will be going to Blue Ridge Dermatology going forward .

Just received a 'Certified, return receipt requested' letter from Audry and Holly (a PA) - wanting me to sign a document releasing them from responsibility if I did not get an Actinic Keratosis (pre-cancer) treated._________________________________________________________________________I responded in part:Thank you so much for your concern - I find it strange that you sent me this with regards to Actinic Keratosos but not the active cancer on my nose. I left little doubt in my last message that I would not be returning to your practice for any reason. So let me clarify: Your office gave me two choices of treatment 1). Topical Chemo and 2). Radiation therapy. Both are quite expensive and the side effects outlast the treatment by weeks and months. Neither was the optimal choice - that would have been MOHS surgery. As we all know, MOHS is one and done. Since your office advertises MOHS, the very fact that you did not offer it as a first choice is suspect. I hope I am wrong, but it seems a greater monetary reward to suggest a 900 dollar tube of cream or 24 THOUSAND DOLLARS of radiation. Either way this reeks of malpractice! Make no mistake, YOU ARE FIRED!_____________________________________________________________________________In my humble opinion, (and it's just my opinion)  I wouldn't let them so much as pop a pimple!

Was a patient for 4-5 years but the constant overbooking hassles, hurried procedures and poor results drove me elsewhere. Dr Ghassemian is a good guy for basic checkups and procedures , but I was NOT happy with facial scarring from a Moh's surgery (4 years ago) done by Dr. Echt that still is prominent today. I've moved on.
