Takanori Fukushima's Online Review Report Card

I called this office after first trigeminal neuralgia surgery had failed. Lori of this practice talked so highly of Dr. Fukushima and his new procedure of creating a sling to pull the blood vessel away from the trigeminal nerve and was 100% confident that the surgery would help cure my wife's severe trigeminal neuralgia pain. We went for appointment and she and Dr assured us procedure would cure my wife and that Dr Fukushima would perform the sling surgery. We eventually had the surgery and while in waiting room after her surgery I spoke to Dr that had assisted Dr Fukushima in surgery and asked him if they did the renowned sling procedure in the surgery that they told us repeatedly they were going to do and the Doctor said no. After my wife left ICU and went to her room Dr Fukushima did his rounds and visited with my wife and we both asked him if he did the Sling procedure like they all said they were going to do and that they all raved about as such a success and he too said he did not conduct that procedure. He said her previous microvascular surgery was the wrong type of surgery for trigeminal neuralgia and all Drs were wrong in doing this for trigeminal neuralgia. He said he just picked out pieces of the Teflon sponge from previous surgery by Dr at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and did not do the sling procedure like they all said to our face. Now, 2 years later my wife's trigeminal neuralgia is back strong as ever and she has additional facial numbness pain caused directly from his failed surgery. We have since been to additional Drs for treatment and she has to take numerous medications every day just to try to numb the pain. Our latest Dr advised us after hearing all the details that we probably should seek a Medical Malpractice Attorney due to their repeated claims of them doing the sling procedure and its almost 100% cure rate yet not even doing it and her condition was not helped at all, but made worse. We are in process of doing so now so other people in pain seeking last resort help don't get shamed like we were. Please seek help elsewhere or do your homework, because this practice will promise you a cure when you're at your most vulnerable and then may not even perform the procedure that they tell you to your face that they are going to do. I'm sure there are probably other similar cases and that other victims are out there that need to be looked into.

Dr. Fukushima changed my life. I was suffering the pain of trigeminal neuralgia. A friend gave my husband his contact number. He called his office on Monday. I had surgery on the following Thursday and I went home on Saturday, completely pain free. I considered it a miracle from God working thru Dr Fukushima.

I'm forever grateful and blessed to have met Dr. Fukushima. My wife and I had made the leap of faith to travel to the east coast to get the proper treatment done. I highly recommend Dr. Fukushima to anyone who has been suffering from this disease to seek his expertise.

He saved my life 9 years ago. He did a great job on removing tumor

Due to the location of the brain tumor, I was referred to Dr. Takanori Fukushima who is a world renowned brain surgeon and teacher specializing in many different types of brain tumors. Excellent Experience and fantastic care

In 2020 and 2021,Dr. Fukushima and Dr. Kaith Khoury performed two skull-based surgeries, microvascular decompression on both sides of my face to treat my trigeminal neuralgia. Dr. Fukushima at Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic came highly recommended by neurologists in the Raleigh NC area. Even though I had a previous unsuccessful surgery in Charlotte, NC, Dr Fukushima was confident that he could correct the issue. Both Dr. Fukushima and Dr. Khoury, and their team were absolutely great! They ensured I understood and was comfortable at each step of the entire process. The first surgery was successful and the pain on my right side was no longer. A month later after I weened off my meds, I realized I had the same pain on the left side of my face. Nine months later Dr. Fukushima and Dr. Khoury performed another surgery on the left side, which was also successful. I am now pain free for the first time in over 20 years! Both of these surgeons are extremely gifted and a Godsend.

Dr Fukushima and Dr Margraf have performed 2 trigeminal neuralgia MVDs on me and both have been successful. They are amazing caring knowledgeable surgeons with positive attitudes. Truly touched by the hand of God. Thank you with all my heart!! Alesia P.

Excellent neurosurgeon especially if you have the rare disease - Trigeminal Neuralgia. He did MVD (cranial surgery) 2/19/2021 I had no complications. I woke up icu with pain gone. No pain so far, 6 months later. His nurse Lori was excellent with setting up the surgery I was pleased with his office staff. I travel from SC to get an experience neurosurgeon. He has done over 2,800 of this surgery. I hope that I will be able to see him again for the same surgery on the opposite side in 6 months.
