Wakemed Hospitals's Online Review Report Card

By far the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. They gave me my discharge paper work and left the room without saying anything. So I’m just waiting there….I didn’t know where to go to wait on my ride or anything. They didn’t say a word.

I never said that my daughter was insane. Cant believe that you lied. Then you transferred her without letting me know. Horrible service!

Nurse Brant and Dr. Salisbury were absolutely determined to figure out what was wrong with me and how to fix it. they did amazing and patient care was the best i’ve ever received. it was so refreshing to have a medical professional take me seriously. as soon as they figured out the problem they transferred me to another Wake Med for surgery extremely quickly. Thank you all for taking such great care of me.

Came in, been waiting 2+ hours with tonsils so swollen that I’m drooling and can’t eat, drink water, and having trouble breathing. Nobody else in the waiting room and nobody else in the er. Doc took hours to come see me and tried to say I have strep when I tested negative 3 days ago. Throwing me on steroids and that’s it. And nurse is rude too, getting mad at me for not communicating when doc was in here for 1 minute, got mad when I asked if he would send the steroids in to my cvs. Was rude about my tattoo. Butch nurse and black male doctor.

I would have given a 5 but had some concerns after I read my visit summary and the lack of certain information while I was present in the ED. I was there for what was diagnosed as pulmonary emboli. I even told the nurse that I was on contraceptives for extensive period of time and it was noted on my summary I was not on birth control. This is a crucial factor when someone is diagnosed with a blood clot. As well as no one communicated to me to stop taking contraceptive after my discharge and I was not aware until several days later when my PCP office noted it.

I can not say enough kind things about this hospital! From the EMT's who transported my mother there, to the WONDERFUL security gentleman on duty, to the receptionist, to the nursing staff; everyone was so helpful and efficient with their positions. I HIGHLY recommend this satellite hospital of Wake Med's to everyone. Their Covid restrictions were very secure and I appreciated this (especially) because my mother has been quarantined since the virus started.

When necessary I go out of my way to go to WakeMed Brier Creek ER and here's why:1. the service and care is consistent2. seldom if ever is the ER crowded3. the doctors I've seen all have different approaches nevertheless they all have been supportive with good bedside manners.4. I find the nurses and their support stuff responsive and helpful too

I've been waiting 3 hours to be seen by a doctor after coming to the ER with bad infection from a spider bite. Theres a man who's been waiting longer than me who is clearly sick and just threw up on the floor. I don't know whether they need to hire more staff or fix an issue with bad staff. There aren't even very many people waiting. Whatever the problem its unacceptable and needs to be fixed immediately.
