List of James Cox's Reviews
Dr Cox used to be a great doctor when he was with Hilltop. Now that he has opened his own practice, he's all about monetization. I understand he needs to get a return on the money he has invested in his schooling and practice, but I feel his monetizing has superseded his patient care. I started going back to him when I moved back into the area. I had seen him before when he was with Hilltop. First I couldn't be seen in his office until I I had the co-pay to pay up front. Fine. I understand that. All he did was check my blood pressure, listened to my lungs, and said I'm gonna order you some labs i want to see you back in a month. He said we can talk about your blood pressure, which mine was fine BTW, controlled very well by the BP meds I have been on for years. I told him no, I wanna talk and find out the reason why I couldn't get my 02 sats above 95% in which my 02 says have always run 98-100%. I told him I went to the ER three months prior and the doc said I had pulmonary fibrosis. Dr Cox scoffed at that and sent me on my way. I made an appointment with a different doctor and he ran tests on me and found out I have stage 3 COPD. Dr Cox,please get your quality of care for your patients back to where it was. You putting monetizing above yor patients could be very disastrous to some poor soul.
Great Dr and staff. Thank you all so much for everything you do.
My mother has experienced a great deal of health issues since April. After convincing her to switch PCP, she chose Dr Cox per our request. This was absolutely the best decision she has ever made! Dr. Cox cares about his patients. He is attentive, caring, and he is a Godly man who has been called to this profession. His staff, Amanda, Melissa, and everyone I've had the privilege to talk with, are truly amazing. It's inspiring to see a Dr and staff so devoted to their patients. What a difference it makes knowing all these individuals truly care about my mother and her health.
Dr Cox and ALL the staff are AMAZING! I am so glad we found them. Getting an appointment is easy. Very knowledgeable and takes the time to listen. They truly care about their patients.
Dr. Cox and staff are wonderful with my elderly mother. Focused on her as a person and a philosophy of maximizing preventative care and quality of life. Does not push frequent appointments, labs, drugs and yet always there when needed, even same day appointments in case of injury, when possible. Caring, medically astute, respectful, not rushed, can't ask for more.
Great Dr great staff and just great people
So I am one who never goes to the doctor! My husband and I were once patients of Dr. Cox when he was affiliated with the hospital! We loved him then! Well then it got to where we were seeing students instead of Dr. Cox! So we stayed away from the doctors office! Well this week myself and our children needed to be seen by the doctor! I was so happy to learn that Dr. Cox has went out on his own to do private practice! I must say he is a wonderful doctor who cares about his patients and is very thorough! Our children loved him, and we still do as much! What a wonderful man of God! Now going to the doctor may not be so bad!
Awesome doctor, staff and service. My husband and I both see Dr. Cox. He always takes his time with us.
I have been seeing Dr. Cox for 10 or more years. I have been reading reviews and have to say since he has his own practice his prescriptions go to pharmacy immediately. I had issues with him listening to me as well, in the beginning, and now I find him very tentative to my issues concerning medications and my treatments. I am pleased about his compassion towards my needs now. One of the things that he does that I like the most, he refers me to specialist when I have a chronic problem. I was going to another doctor very close by in Rutherford College, and he sometimes didn't treat me for a problem and would not send me to a specialist. I made my own decision to change doctors and get help for the problem I had an order for me to get better. Dr Cox always works with a patient for acute illnesses and for chronic problems once you have seen a specialist, if necessary. A family Dr. is for acute illnesses not chronic! Dr. Cox is very good at testing for illnesses when needed to clarify said sicknesses when symptoms show possible problems. He is a great geriatrics Dr. As I get older illnesses arise and Dr Cox is very through. I am very pleased with his plans of treatments now, as his patient. I never had to wait to see him more that 15 minutes total, waiting rooms and treatment room. His staff is great!
The doctor is awesome! Very caring and compassionate!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
