List of Asheville Gastroenterology Associates's Reviews
~ATTENTION~If you decide to go to MauzyPhillips make sure you do NOT see CINDY ALDRIDGE.I tried to explain symptoms many times but she would talk over me interrupt me or completely ignore what I said. She said all was fine but was completely wrong.
I called talked with a nurse about a simple peace of glass in my foot that was to deep to get out on my own told her I had been to another doc weeks before but nothing was done could they help me. She placed me on hold to talk with the doc came back and told me they would not help to go back to the doc I previously saw they didnt like to mess around where another doc has been. LMAO😂 what a joke. Then she said try the ER People this is where we are in 2020.
The walkin clinicurgent care seems like such a great resource for our area but after taking my sick 15 year old to be seen this morning I will never go back and do not recommend this facility to anyone. I was told to ask for a specific provider which I did but my request was not honored even though the people in front of me did the same and got their request. Even with several flulike symptoms the provider did not perform a flu test yet proceeded to lecture me on the bacterial vs viral infections. She was condescending and didnt listen to my concerns. I asked to see another provider but was denied. I will NEVER go back to this facility and my 15 year old daughter left the facility crying and said I will never go back to the doctor again.Although the supervisor at the front desk was nice and attentive the rest of the experience was way less than impressive....and I drug my sick child our of bed to a waiting room to be exposed to other germs so that a PA with zero compassion could flaunt her knowledge about antibiotic resistance and then tell me to come back in a few days if she is not better.Dont waste your time
I was on vacation and had a fall on a local hiking trail and dislocated a finger. The staff was great and I was in and out in no time. I had a great experience.
Get ready because they arent enrolled in carolina access you will have to find your children another doctorand I was just in there with my daughter and no one said a word until I got a letter from Raliegh
Place is a joke. The doctors dont do anything to help you but reference to a specialist and your stuck to suffer until they call you. Go to the ER in a different area because this hospital here does about the same thing.
Dr. Patel is a excellent doctor.
Weve been here at least a half dozen times in the past two years and can honestly say we have no complaints. If you have BCBS with a doctors office copay thats what you pay. Not the ER copay. The staff is always friendly and will work with you and takes their time. Its definitely worth the travel time from Avery County especially if you dont want too pay the high ER copay or have no idea which doctor is working in your county ER. There is one certain female doctor none of my family will ever see again Cannon So .....we will continue to go to the Mauzy Phillips Center for our urgent care needs.
Just dont.....maybe we just got a doctor that didnt care but a person thats had temp for 3 days coughing up and blowing out green slime red faced flushed weak an no appetite does not have allergies. And they charged 98$ for a wrong diagnosis. I knew what was wrong before I made the appointment just couldnt get in to see our regular doctor for couple of days and didnt want a sinus infection to go untreated any longer. She perscribed Flonase and Zyrtec. I suspect if I had had an insurance card to slap down I would have gotten better service. All they seemed to be worried about was if wed had our flu shots or not.THE REST OF THE STORY...The above story was about my daughter the next morning I woke up with the same mess and let me tell you this is the worst case of allergies Ive ever had. Long story short our regular doctor worked us in that day and gave us both a good exam not the 5 minute one we got at the clinic and gave us both antibiotics. My daughter even had decreased breath sounds in one lung. I am making this updated post one week after our clinic visit we both still have 2 days of antibiotics left and are beginning to feel human again. Its hard for me to believe that any doctor could be so inept but Ive been told that these clinics are notorious for doing this so you will be forced to return of course no better and have to pay another office visit. Sorry this wasnt long story short but Im still very angry Dont screw around with peoples health. UPDATE.....THEIR 98$ CHARGE WAS PAID IN FULL IN CASH DAY OF SO CALLED SERVICES 2 MONTHS LATER GET BILL IN MAIL FOR ANOTHER 10$ SOMETHING ABOUT DUE TO NO INSURANCE COUKD BE FILED THEY KNEW THERE WAS NO INSURANCE TO BEGIN WITH I MEAN IF THERE WAS INSURANCE WHY WOULD I HAVE PAID THE WHOLE ORIGINAL CHARGE THAT DAY.....CAN YOU SAY RIP OFF?.....
If I could give this center a negative number I would. I was attending a week long coarse at Penland and started getting cold symptoms. I waited two days then woke up with extreme ear pain. I knew the I would have to get back on a plane in a few days so wanted to take precautionary measures and see a doctor. I saw a PA young male with goatee and glasses. He looked in my ears said they were very inflamed and blocked but said there was no infection. He never looked at my throat or nose. He sent me home with Sudafed and Afrin. Two days later the ear pain persisted and now I was having blood tinged green sputum. I called the clinic back and explained that I had already been seen by this PA and listed my new symptoms. Now I was at a point that I was getting on that plane that same evening.Every time I called that clinic I had to leave a voicemail and wait for someone to call me back. It took hours to hear from someone and when I did I was given a robotic speech about how sputum discoloration could also be viral nothing else was prescribed and I was assigned a new PA.I did get on that plane and had the most horrible pain in my ears and by the time I got off I couldn’t hear at all. Today is Sunday and I still can’t hear also have the same blood tinged sputum and in addition have conjunctivitis is both eyes. Now not only can I not hear but can’t see either. The conjunctivitis is from the infection that I should have been diagnosed with when I first went in. If this doctor had given me a thorough examination I wouldn’t be in the position of having to ask someone to drive me to my doctor here in town and take a day off. This clinics staff is subpar from the phone help to the caretakers.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
