I could sit here and write a book about this man but I won't. He saved my back when I was 18 years old and performed a microdiscectomy on my right L4/L5. 21 years later, he saved my back again and performed a microdiscectomy on my left L3/L4. You won't get a bunch of happy go lucky, laughing and cutting up with him. What you will get, is a man who has been through it, knows what it's like and just wants to help you get better. He is not a knife happy doctor but if that is what it takes, he is the BEST person to do it. Doc, thanks again for taking care of me. It is an amazing feeling knowing I have nothing to worry about with you. You're the best and I'm forever grateful! Edited to add that Krista was an amazing help in his office as well. Such a great person who goes above and beyond!
Laminectomy was a Total SUCCESS❗❗❗ Completely Pain Free shortly after surgery. Great Staff and professional approach to serious pain. Thanks Doc❗😎
I think Dr Huffman hung the moon. He's easy to talk to, takes the time to explain everything in plain language, is honest about potential outcomes... He has also made terrific referrals, which I appreciate enormously. At one point a few years ago, when two other doctors told me that the problem I was having was spine -related, Dr Huffman told me that it was absolutely *not* spine-related and that he would absolutely not perform surgery on me. The problem turned out to be a drug allergy! I'm so deeply grateful that Dr Huffman is not one of those "cut crazy" docs who value the money over the human being! Btw the person who recommended him to me used to be one of his OR nurses--she's worked with dozens and dozens of doctors over the decades, and he's one of very few that she recommends without condition.
I am a female with a drop foot problem. Was sent to this office by my primary care doctor and my husband went with me. On my first and second visit the staff was very friendly and professional. My wait time was not long at all. Saw Maria Stout the first time...second time saw her and then she had Dr. Huffman come in to tell me what to expect. I did not find him to be arrogant as some reviews have stated. Rather, I saw that he was extremely busy and has quite a surgery schedule, yet he took the time to sit down and explain in detail exactly what kind of surgery he wanted to do on my lower back and was very thorough in going over all the risks, etc. I had my husband in with me as two sets of ears are better than one. After explaining the procedure he wanted to do, he asked if I had any questions and he listened and I did not sense that he was rushed. On the way to the surgery scheduler, he noticed the type of shoes I was wearing and gave me good advice on what I should be wearing and why. Left the office that day feeling that I am in good hands and that he cares and does his best for every patient. However, as with all surgeries there are no guarantees. Busy and direct as a surgeon, but not arrogant!
Excellent doctor and surgeon. Provided a step by step plan to help with my severe neck pain. He's straightforward and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend Dr. Huffmon
I called to set up appointment with Dr. Huffmon for possible surgery on my spine and a appointment was made with Maria. I was advised that I had to have an MRI before I saw the doctor. and I quote "Dr. Huffmon won't see anyone without MRI and xrays. I complied and had that all that done at Delaney Radiologists. When I returned visit with Maria, I was told Dr. Huffmon wouldn't operate on me because of my age being 89 years old. MY COMPLAINT IS I HAD TO PAY dELANEY $180. PLUS WHATEVER MEDICARE PAYMENT WAS FOR NO REASON AT ALL. since my age was surely known on initial visit. Since Social Security is my only source of income $180. was a burden on me.
At our initial visit we did not see Dr. Huffmon. We saw a team member who advised us we needed special x-rays before the doctor would look at the MRI and CT scan. We waited for 3 weeks for a follow up appointment. At the follow-up (1:15 p.m.) we waited about 2 hours (3 p.m.) to see the doctor. Offered no apology for the long wait. He saw nothing he would correct by surgery--but had no advice except to return to Pain Management (we have been in pain management for almost 2 years with no success.) Or--we could try a stimulator--which we have already done. Did he not read the records we sent? We thought he was defensive--acted like we were demanding that he operate. Had absolutely no suggestions--maybe go to PT--that would help the severe pain husband has when standing, walking. Waste of our time--would not recommend--not very empathetic.
Excellent surgeon. Performed my neck surgery 7 years ago and more recently repair of a herniated disc in my low back. Very professional and courteous.
Dr. Huffmon is an incredible surgeon. Before my back surgery, I could barely walk and my pain level was at least an 8.5. After surgery, my pain level is about a two and I'm walking further everyday. I honestly feel at least 20 years younger thanks to Dr. Huffmon. Can't wait for my followup appointment to get the okay to start surfing again! If you are feeling any back pain, please don't hesitate to get a referral to see Dr. Huffmon and his wonderful staff!!
After Dr. Huffman preformed my back surgery, I feel at least 20 years younger and my pain level has decreased at least 85%. A big thank you to Dr.Huffman and his wonderful staff!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
