Dr. Thomas went out of his way to explain my options for a lumbar disc herniation and really took the time with me to help me make the best decision for a plan forward. He is very knowledgeable and caring.

My wife was referred to Dr. Thomas for evaluation of her chronic back pain. His PA ordered a series of tests to be done out-of-office. With scheduling of the tests and waiting for office appointments, about 5 months passed. Finally, we met with Dr. Thomas who stated that because he only performed the type of surgery my wife required about twice a year, he would defer to another doctor to do the surgery. He also cited her weight as a factor. Wasted Five months!!!!!!! Wasted tests!!!!!!

Dr Thomas is what a doctor should be brilliant. He did a spinal fusion on my L3 And L4 . Operation was perfect. No compilations Dr Thomas has a great skill of making the patient fill relaxed and explains everything to you. Just speaking to him gives you trust and confidence in him. Great doctor .

Excellent communication and diagnosis. His work is spot on and i was very happy with my operation. Explained what he was going ot do and what to expect. If i ever need a spinal surgeon he is the one.

Regarding Dr. Alex Thomas: The staff of Atlantic Neurosurgical, from Dr. Thomas' PA Jack Bagley to all of the support staff, made my experience as pleasant and effective as could be. The nerve pain from an L3-4 cyst had been excruciating. With proper imaging, the diagnosis and day surgery to remedy it was performed quickly. The result: Pain gone almost instantly. Having recently moved here from the medical epicenter of Boston, MA, I will confidently say that the Wilmington area is quite lucky to have such a skilled and personable surgical specialist in Dr. Thomas.
