Shallotte office. Great service. Friendly ,helpful staff. I recommend them to anyone.
I spoke with the patient coordinator (Cary location) multiple times to arrange an appointment for my daughter, who requires sedation. Since we couldn’t secure a March date (full), we agreed on a date in April. She sent several emails with treatment plans, but I missed a QR code in one of the attachments that was apparently required to finalize the booking. Unfortunately, no one followed up to confirm or flag that anything was incomplete. When I called regarding her scheduled date, I was stunned to learn that the appointment had never actually been booked. They are now only able to offer a date that's another month away. I’m extremely disappointed by the lack of communication and follow-through, and overall very frustrated/stressed with this experience.
This office was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We were told at a previous office (MJ) there were only stains from her braces, then suddenly informed there were 11+ cavities with no prior warning or “watch areas” ever mentioned. When I asked for clarification, I got vague, generic answers. What was supposed to be a routine cleaning turned into 4 fillings with no mental preparation for my stepdaughter, and staff were dismissive of her anxiety afterward. The front desk (Sarah) was unprofessional and dismissive when I asked to discuss finances privately, and again when I tried to understand why our treatment pricing changed—no clear answers, just attitude and deflection. We also overpaid and spent weeks trying to fix it, only for the refund to be sent to the wrong parent. We even asked if half could be sent to each. When I finally spoke to the manager (also Sarah), she was robotic and unhelpful, and I was told I couldn’t be refunded despite being the one who paid at multiple visits. Overall, the office lacks communication, accountability, and basic customer service. The only positive experience I had was with Ainsley, who was helpful and professional.
I visited both the monkey junction office & Porters Neck as my consult revealed that I needed an endodontist. The drs explained everything clearly, which made me feel comfortable going into it. I had my procedure today at the Porters Neck office and was in and out pretty quickly. I was surprised at how easy it was and have very minimal pain post procedure! The staff was great and Hayden, the dental assistant was awesome as well. I will definitely be going back for future care & really appreciate how quickly they got me in.
Dr. Gill and her team—Ryann and Stephanie—provided an exceptional experience from start to finish. Ryann truly stood out with how well she coordinated everything. She made sure my insurance would cover the procedure, clearly explained my co-pay, and walked me through both pre- and post-operative instructions in detail. She also carefully reviewed my medical history to ensure everything was accurate for Dr. Gill, which gave me a lot of confidence going into surgery. I especially appreciated how she emphasized the importance of having a caretaker to drive me and stay with me afterward—something that’s easy to overlook but so important. On top of all that, she followed up with me multiple times after the procedure, all while managing other patients. She even administered my IV flawlessly—I didn’t bruise at all! Beyond her professionalism, she was funny, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable, which made a nerve-wracking experience much easier. Stephanie was equally wonderful. She was kind, patient, and very thorough, making sure I was comfortable every step of the way. She took the time to explain exactly what was about to happen, which really helped ease my anxiety. Dr. Gill was absolutely top-notch. She explained the procedure clearly, discussed all potential risks, and made sure I felt comfortable and reassured throughout the entire process. Her calm and confident demeanor made a huge difference. As a 44-year-old having my wisdom teeth removed, I was understandably a bit nervous—but thanks to this amazing team, the experience was genuinely great. I couldn’t recommend them more highly!
If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I will not be returning. I scheduled a routine cleaning online and promptly completed all requested forms, including insurance and contact information. Despite that, I was contacted multiple times before the appointment asking for the same details and to reconfirm information I had already provided. I even had to personally follow up, twice, with my previous dentist to send X-rays. On the day of my appointment, the office doors were still locked just minutes before opening, with a crowd of patients waiting outside. Once inside, I was told my X-rays hadn’t been received and that I would need to pay out of pocket for new ones. After pushing back and contacting my previous dentist again, the X-rays finally came through, making that request unnecessary. I was then taken back, asked to repeat the same intake answers AGAIN, and eventually and briefly examined by the dentist, who had no concerns. I was sent to another room for the cleaning, only to be told there were no hygienists available. After paying a copay and spending 1 hour and 40 minutes there, I still did not receive the cleaning I scheduled. The only rescheduling options were later that same day or months out. This office is disorganized, inefficient, and showed a complete lack of respect for my time. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere if you expect a straightforward, professional visit.
I highly recommend Dr.Kyle Thames and Ms.Vickey! Dr Thames is very professional and cares about his patients. I had a root canal done and felt great the following day!
This is the worsts dentist ever!!! They was so rude to me. I went to the one in knightdale ! The doctor that does extractions is a male told me not to ever come back cause he was hurting me.
Concord Location - It hurts to have to give this place one star because it doesn't deserve even that. Demi the office “manager” is a joke- I called her first before proceeding to post my review on each platform, but she heard what I had to say but didn't listen to me or try to understand. My father, an elderly man, went to them for the first time with discomfort in his tooth. We were told he needed a crown. The crown was put in, but as time went by, he was still in pain. I called the clinic and told them this isn't normal, it shouldn't hurt this much so long after the crown was put in place. They gave him a second appointment, and the moment the nurse saw the first X-ray they had taken, she said, "Oh, you have an infection." We were never told he had an infection the first time. He had an infection even before the crown was put in place but instead of looking at it , recommending the correct procedure, they decided that the $1,700 crown was what he needed. The second doctor sees him and tells him, oh wait you need a 3d xray - I think you should have had a root canal instead not a crown…that crown was removed that date and reshaped- he claimed that his discomfort could also have been in proper fitting. Long story short- my dad had to remove his tooth, his tooth infection spread to his stomach and he was really sick for almost two weeks. He had to pay $1700 out of pocket because his insurance dis not cover the crown and the very unhelpful manager refused to do anything to fix the situation. AVOID this place at all cost. They are amateurs and do not know what they are doing.
Got there early & was greeted promptly by Sara. Hayden & Dr. Thames were great! They made sure I was pain free w frequent checks. They answered all my questions re my root canal & they had a comfortable, constant banter that kept my mind off of what they were doing. Time passed very quickly. Highly recommend!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
