9 hours and still waiting. Other people have been here longer. Obviously not enough doctors or rooms or both. Doctors may be great, but not if you can't see them. No food choices. Don't know if you have time to leave to eat (and patient is diabetic). Genuinely pathetic for a major hospital. If you don't come here in an ambulance, don't come. Once we got to the back, doctors and nurses were great overall. Spent 2 days in ER waiting to be admitted. There really ought to be a better way than this.

I had a series of appointments in the stric center and the staff was wonderful. Everything was great but the parking and accessibility is a nightmare. It's a long walk and climb for people with disabilities and super difficult for those with a walker or wheelchair. One lady was unable to find a wheel chair and her husband carried her on his back part of the walk. There's a lot of construction and they do charge for parking unless you have a sticker issued from the lobby. The faculties were clean and sanitizer everywhere. I was surprised that there weren't any toilet covers for the bathrooms. 5/5 jn service and 3/5 because of parking and accessibility Special thumbs up to the CRU and imaging centers. I forgot to mention that the assistance button to get in the MRI imaging parking wasn't working and you can't get in without a badge or code. That knocked off for the parking situation.
Givin two shots my body denied it. And they left me there. Blood bursted.
I have never been in such an horrible hospital my entire life. The hospital is run by African American staff and they are very discriminatory. The pediatrics lab is a slaughtering house. Nurse was very rude and rough on kids. The words come out right but not the actions. I could hear a child screaming at the top of her lungs for more than 15 minutes, kids and adults at the waiting room were terrified. Every single white child that entered there came out screaming. I am traumatized for what I heard as I trust anyone else who was on that room is.
Few up and downs but overall excellent medical care. Drs and Nurses excellent after 3 week stay. Nothings every perfect but they sure are close.
Bad experience all around my brother was not looked after properly by doctors or nurses or aides I was with him alot he passed away there do not recommend
I had my daughter here July of last year (2022) . she was 2 months early , I was brought down from my local hospital in Virginia . All my nurses was great on the floor . my only issues was my last night I was moved down to the overflow floor the nurse I had was rude and gave me the creeps . My daughter got discharged before the expected date . I'm friends to this day with 2 of the wonderful nurses I had .
New construction
We (my mother, our friend, and I) are not from NC. We were visiting Winston Salem from Knoxville, TN. We were involved in an automobile accident and we were taken by ambulance to this facility. I was so unhappy with the way that everything was handled. We are not accustomed to being ignored and left to wait without any communication. There was security at the front, which was way more shocking, being as how we do not have to walk through metal detectors at the ER doors back home. My mother and our friend was taken in the back and I was put in the waiting room to wait for information on them. Instead of being updated by a nurse, my mom and our friend was wheeled out to the waiting area where we sat and waited for X-rays to be done. We waited over 5 hours for those X-rays to be done. And that was all that was done. There were others waiting that had more serious issues like heart issues and chest pains that stated they had been waiting for the better part of 7 hours already. At the 6th hour, we were taken to the back to another area of the hospital. That area looked more like an abandoned wing that had not been used in years. It was dusty and the floors were filthy. The rooms were bare, no real supplies at hand. It still took the doctors an additional hour to get their story straight on my mother’s X-rays and get her and our friend discharged. We ended up having to stay in Winston Salem overnight because it took so long to be checked out at the ER even though we arrived by ambulance. We arrived a little before 6 PM and left after midnight. We were told that there were 7 traumas that were being treated in addition to the other emergencies. It was my understanding that not only was this a learning (university) hospital, it was a trauma center, so handling multiple emergencies should never be used as an excuse. It was way too much for a few out-of-towners that are used to being cared for more efficiently at our medical facilities in Knoxville.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
